C4 Pedal spacing
Been driving the C4 for two weeks now, and struggling with foot placement on the clutch pedal. I keep catching the “foot rest” to the left, or the brake pedal to the right, more so when braking at the same time. It’s never taken me this long to get used to a car before. Anyone else had the same problem? Any advice?

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
That problem does beg the question what size and type of shoes are you using?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
Same size as me, I had similar issues many years ago with my brother-in-laws Renault 4. I used to wear my yachting deck shoes which were about as slim as I owned to make it easier. However I have heard of people taking the angle grinder to trim the brake pedal and footrest but I don't know if that is possible in a C4.

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
Really? It’s my only issue with the car so far (apart from the failed update, which is now fixed) Maybe it’s designed for ladiesGiveMeABreak wrote: 02 Mar 2024, 23:44 Seems the old C4 suffered the same issue.....

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
After 6 months and 1500 miles, I still have the same problem with the pedal spacing. Maybe if the useless foot rest under the clutch pedal were not there
.

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
Mrs Vic has owned a C4 for 10 years since new.
I've driven it thousands of Kms & never given the pedal spacings a thought apart from thinking I actually like the foot rest.
Maybe it's because it's lhd ?
I've size 8 feet & drive locally in Crocs & distances in Sketchers.

Re: C4 Pedal spacing
Maybe they changed the spacing on later models
. I can’t even get my foot on the rest without first moving it backwards, then going under the clutch pedal and forward again. Certainly can’t just do a side and down movement from the clutch.
