I should still be joining you, hopefully with Mike, but I don't know of any good eateries in the Didcot/Wallingford area.

I am going to pick a word of the day from that article which caught my eye Bobins...and post it up on "Word/Phrase of the Day"bobins wrote: ↑18 Oct 2023, 10:14 You could really push the boat out and photograph yourselves outside the Judges postcard building on Bexhill road, Hastings. Quite a history to Judges postcards.

The original building is still there

Arrange with James and I shall decide nearer the time. Recovery dependent.. I can't imagine any of the local eateries being unable to accommodate an extra person on a Tuesday evening.

Re: Mick's Motoring South Coast Saunter
Only a very quick update on the saunter I'm afraid as I have left today's pics downstairs in the car and I am too lazy to go and get them!! Overall it has been a great first day with a stop for breakfast at Mickeys Diner, details of which I posted here, and then a run, via Bleak House in Broadstairs, down to Hythe and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, RHDR, where we were able to catch the 12.30 train to Dungeness for lunch. The return train got us back to Hythe for 3.45 and we headed down to Hastings via the coast route. We checked in to our hotel at 5.40 and then went out to find a pub for dinner before returning here to write this, watch a bit of TV and then hit the sack ready for an early start tomorrow.
As I did for the September Stroll I have decided to just update the thread with daily summaries during the trip and then write it up properly with all the pictures when we get home!! So tomorrow we head for Bere Regis via the coastal route and dinner in Poole.

I have a few photos of this trip already... As soon as I have some decent Wi-Fi available to me - currently tethering to my burner phone - I'll create some Google Albums

Challenge failed on day 1 Still it wasn't compulsory I just feel sorry for the little postcard shops.NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑18 Oct 2023, 09:07 EDIT. even better take up my challenge, support local business in a small way each day of the trip by actually buying an actual postcard, from an actual shop, hand write it and and photograph it back and front for the daily post on POTD. Some attempt at entertainment and amusement is a bonus but not compulsory.

Are we likely to get another video of CitroJim running with background music? The last one was superb

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.
