My first post here after lurking for a while. Apolgies if this is going over old ground...
PSA XS Evolution 9780.Z5 which I aquired with a Peugeot 307cc, but never used. I believe, from my research, that this is a Dealer version of the Lexia. What software should I be using for my 2010 C5, and where do I get it? And how do I use it without 'bricking' my C5's computers?
Many thanks!

First thing, why do you think it is genuine rather than a clone? It's highly unlikely to be a dealer version.
Assuming it is a clone, how old is it? There are also "levels" of clones which have less hardware internally. This affects trying to read later models (such as the C5 X7) and basically won't read some or all of the vehicle ECUs. What is needed is what's known as a Full Chip device with Rev C firmware. Only if it is such a device should you worry about the software. What software do you have at the moment?

Thanks Paul-R,
It was the 'ACTIA' sticker on the back with serial number, and 'warrant void if removed' label. On more research using the serial number itself, it is indeed a fake. No idea of the age, and I don't have any of the software.
Worth trying it to see (once i have the software), or junk it and buy something else?

You'll have to go inside the unit and have a look at the boards. Take a look at the photos in these links for examples of good and not so good boards.

If your unit is full chip (and preferably with the 10k resistor) then it may be good enough for your C5. Being Rev C is a different question and you would have to use a program to interrogate the unit for that. But first, find out about the chips.
You'll have to damage the 'warranty void if removed' sticker though!
