Hi Kenny,

Ok, I had the starter out checked for a whole on the fly wheel there is none. There is a hole in the block but what my car has is a luk type flywheel see image below. There only the counter weights hence why I didn't lock flywheel it's not possible to do so

Thanks for your help and advice as always much appreciated, I bought it in November drove home have been working on it since. 😔
Needed more than I could have possibly Imagined, it will be a good car when I get it going, I hope🤔 😀

  Hi Matt, I thought that was just a counter weight. I have just been out plugged it in no cam crank synch according to read out and fuel pressure is 40,000kpa at full crank 250rpm. I will pull it apart at the weekend and see try it. I thought it was a circular hole.

That's why it won't start then. Plenty fuel pressure but if it doesn't see cam / crank in synch it won't start injection.

On mine there were two holes, just to confuse further!

The proper flywheel hole (viewed from removed starter motor position) is actually almost square. Hole in block is round. Think was 9mm diameter rod to fit both (details in my post) the "decoy" flywheel hole was smaller.

As described above, the toothed tool is to hold crankshaft whilst pulley bolt is undone (and official procedure is wind it out with torque wrench to avoid risk of shearing it! Head back tightening then out again if torque wrench clicks on the way out)

Hi lads, yes the cam crank no synch said it all. Round peg square hole only the French along with a decoy just to top it off or in my case hiding in plain site.😃
I will post back when I have lined it up and hopefully runs. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Lads, I got it pinned and timed up I was out a little bit maybe 1or two teeth on cam pulley when I pinned the flywheel. Timed up from scratch again.Rotated by hand took a few goes but pins lined up so I am confident timing is correct now. Got too dark to put back together will do it in the morning.

Hi Lads, got it started woo hoo. :) Cylinder 3 injector fault p12A8 expletives #-o  . Any suggestions is this likely to be an injector or did I more likely bend the valves or break a rocker. Runs like an old tractor. Fault description stuck closed injector or cylinder problem. :-k :-k

Oh dear. I would suspect that you may have bent a valve, is it missing on one cylinder when you start it? Best thing to do is a compression test and see if one cylinder is down.

You could try turning the engine over by hand, if one cylinder is damaged, be it valve or rocker, you'll notice by the amount of force needed on the tommy bar.

The engine turns over easily the only resistance is a bit of flop over there was never any symptoms of clashing, it sounds like it is running on three cylinders. How common are stuck injectors at over 200000 Kms on these she has 246000 Kms on her. She has Delphi injectors 2.0 rhr. She hasn't ran since before Christmas.

What I meant was, when turning the engine over by hand you should feel 4 equal compression strokes.

Yes I turned it over several times and there was no noticeable change in resistance.I will do it against to see if I can feel anything different
