Loving the cone comments πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚

Delighted to have saved all these old OS maps from a skip during my run early this morning πŸ˜€
osmaps.jpg
All perfectly legit as the skip had a big sign to say 'help yourself'... I did!

I'm particularly pleased with this 1967 Buckingham 1 inch - it covers Paggers and environs long before MK came along.

I love old maps πŸ’› I can loose myself in them for hours and hours, especially the older ones...

Apropos hoarding and related under discussion in another thread... To make room for these a load of books will be on their way to a charity shop today ;)

I took a few books to the charity shop some years ago to make room for a few maps! Now look what's happened: :-D

That's for March when I run my first Ultra Marathon of the year Peter ;)

I've just been told the most excellent BBC Timeshift documentary on OS mapping is on YouTube ;) Allegedly no longer available on iPlayer...

I'll be watching it this evening... I watched it once on BBC4 and was captivated...

They do the opposite for me Mick... In fact now I'm unable to travel far I can dive into a map or two and pretend I'm enjoying a bit of travel...

In an area I don't know I try to picture it using the terrain detail shown on the map...

And I love studying old disused railway routes...

Happy Valentines Day one and all πŸ˜€πŸ’›

I spotted this lovely display in Bluebells Florists this morning during my run πŸ˜ŽπŸ’›πŸ˜€

I say it's all very romantically misty and ethereal out there this morning - others might say damp and dismal πŸ™„πŸ€£ My pot's very much half full today :)

And I scored a Garmin badge for getting out there and running πŸ‘ Magic 😊

That's a terrible admission Peter  :( I still miss the almost total eclipse of LP Sodium and its soothing and attractive yellow light... I still have one - an ex-MK streetlight head - should I need a fix... I fire it up occasionally :)

I love seeing them start up - the rosy glow of the Penning mixture to vaporise the sodium and the the slow rise to full brightness :) Poetry...

I find LEDs very harsh but have to admit they do a good job - whilst they work. I'm finding they are shockingly short-lived and fail regularly around here and the council take ages to fix them. Same with our LED traffic lights... Many MK ones have one or two aspects 'out' and they blame a spares shortage... Never an issue when they used halogen filament bulbs...

Even in town, I need to wear my head torch when running in the dark simply because so many lights are out. Never had that problem with the old Sodium ones...
