Hi All,
Thought I would create a new thread re above.
I have had the front and rear pipes break at all the usual places and repaired them and eventually they break again.
So I obtained the following 9mm/7mm (o/d -i/d)pipe and specific windscreen wash piping 7mm/4mm.
Front pipe was replaced with 9/7 mm pipe and connected to previous repair. Run pipe through inner wing to front offside wheel arch where I push the pipe over the original pipe and secured with double lug fuel pipe crimping connector. Tested works fine.
Rear pipe runs through bulkhead into cabin and down to the sill and along the up again to tailgate.
Access is gained through small glove box to the bottom right of steering column. Simply pull through and repair. My repair consisted of connector the same size as pipe push onto original pipe and then pushed onto new 7/4 rubber pipe. Push through bulkhead and then connect to original pipe in wheel arch. Tested and worked fine.
The access in the wheel arch is limited where the washer pipes come through plus Citroen put the joints on a plastic bracket to remove joints a plastic sleeve fits over joint which has to be removed to get them out.
I hope this helps someone to repair their pipes !
Kenny

Re: Windscreen washers Pipes
My tailgate washer tube has totally separated and it would be good to find a replacement

Re: Windscreen washers Pipes
Pictures tell a thousand words, eh!
The rear spoiler removed to access this (window trim inside removed to access screwed fixings that hold this on. Then just a case of break every brittle clip and spoiler removed)
There's a joint just inside the bodywork, behind the big oval rubber boot.
Silly ridged pipe cut carefully off the joint connector and new clear washer tube pushed on. Cable tie around joint to increase purchase on the hose tail of the connector.

Matt,
Front washer pipe:
I found the original pipe eventually splits again and again then you have another repair. This pipe does not like to be bent. HENCE if I was to do it again I would run the new pipe from the 'y ' joint to the pipe connection under the wheel arch.
Rear pipe I did exactly as you have done

Re: Windscreen washers Pipes
Agree I've done half a job! but fingers firmly crossed it'll wait until next time I have car up in the air again for something else, then can get wheel arch liner off and the other section of original pipe ripped out and replaced.
Or it'll stick two fingers up at me and burst/split again next week, it's the luck of the draw!

Re: Windscreen washers Pipes
Is it worth replacing the rear pipe in one whole pipe from the front all the way to the back? Is it possible to pull the length of it all the way or is it fastened by clips along the route?
I need to replace my rear pipe and trying to improve it overall

Re: Windscreen washers Pipes
I don't think I would bother. There's a connector just inside from the piece heading to the boot as described above. Seems sensible to have a joint there to allow for the (unlikely) need to remove the bootlid.aerodynamica wrote: 30 Jan 2023, 12:57 Is it worth replacing the rear pipe in one whole pipe from the front all the way to the back? On the main run front to back, the amount of interior trim that'll need to be removed, loosened or "peeled" back enough to reach the pipe is likely considerable.
Remember this silly pipe is ridged and so may not be possible to draw a new smooth pipe along behind the old one. Certainly on the bonnet piece I changed Citroen seems to have added a ridge inside the pipe clip in one position, and the interlocked ridges put up a fight when I tried to pull the old pipe out.
Thinking about it, also remember the main length through the car doesn't flex (Vs each bonnet/ boot opening)
So I'd put it firmly on the "run till failure" list!
