Window regulator doesn't fit

Unread post by darbuck »

Hi All,

I was just out trying to fit my new regulators to my C5 but they are slightly different to the ones I pulled out of it.

The ones I took out have a guide hook beside each of the four bolts but the new ones don't. the motor fits. Does anyone have any experience with this and is there a workaround, I can't find a picture of my variant anywhere? window is currently held in with old snapped regulator. Bought of Mr Auto will accept return but charging shipping and restocking because its over 30 days

Which C5 - MK I or X7? and have you asked for the correct part numbers for the specific C5 - as you have a membership upgrade?

If you require the the correct part number for the MK I, let me have the VIN (I have the X7's).

Mine has a locating hook beside each of the bolts that hold the frame rails into the door. The parts I bought dont.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the hooks, if the bolt holes line up just fit it. I bought an aftermarket one off ebay for my old X7 & it looked absolutely nothing like the original but it fitted no problem.

Hi Lads, Had the parts the wrong way around I had the passenger side tagged for the driver's side and vice versa. Both are fitted now all working, Happy bunny. :-D :-D 8-)

Never done both sides at the same time so totally understand the confusion.
Happy days :)

Glad it's sorted, I won't post up the parts in that case.

We've all done that before, anyone who hasn't is a liar or not a long time mechanic  Delighted to see you figured it out. Imagine sending the parts back, ordering new parts, only to face the same issue :rofl2:
Has anyone seen the plot? :?

 Yeah we all have brain farts. If I had sent them back and then realised I'd have felt like a right spare one.
