Help required Identifying what 207 gear linkage cable

Ok, so the cables are not available separately. Part (1), the gearshift control lever comes as a whole unit including the cables.

The part is: 2400JZ and they are £274.25 inc. VAT direct from Peugeot, as of this post.

Be very careful with ebay as some sellers are charging more than the dealer for a new one!

Check local motor factors or ebay, You should be able to get a set of cables (without having to buy the gearstick as well) for way cheaper than the crazy dealer price. I done a set on a C4 mentioned earlier in the thread & the aftermarket ones were about a third of the dealer price.

The temporary fix I applied in August (following my previous posts) has now failed and one of the cables has snapped. Given the car is 14 years old I want to try to find a cheap set of cables on an auction site!

Trying to figure out which are the correct ones for VIN VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] if someone could tell me what the official part number is.

Yours is slightly different:

The gear cables on this box (2) are available separately, part: 2444CZ

They are £228.58 inc. VAT from Peugeot as of this post.

Don't rely on ebay parts database! Just search the part number and you'll come up with plenty of options:

Just make sure it is part 2444CZ or equivalent. If you check with the seller you will at least have some comeback if they confirm this.
