Help required Identifying what 207 gear linkage cable

Garage says the gear link cables need replaced. Peugeot want £239 for a complete gearshift and cable unit (PART 2400PH). I just need the two cables though but don’t know which part it is, can anyone here assist if I post the VIN. Not sure if its even ok to post the VIN here?

Any advice or help with this part would be most welcome

Unfortunately they do not sell the cables separately on this gearbox / engine combo, as you can see: Item 2 is not available or listed.

Item 2 (control Cable) was part 2444CZ - so whether there was a modification to any associated parts or not I can't say, nor whether it will fit or not. But is does cost £238.70 inc. VAT, which is the same as the whole thing as you were quoted any way

I've sources someone selling a new old set at a much better price with the code 2400HP, however the garage rang peugeot parts and they said it was called 2400PH. Any way you can check to see if its HP or PH? Im thinking its the same unit and someone has got the letters the wrong way round.

Both 2400 HP and 2400 PH are both valid part numbers, hence the confusion. The correct one for the complete cable and the other part is 2400 PH for your vehicle.

Apologies for re-opening a two year old thread but I have the same identification issue for ​a 2007 registered 207 1.6 HDi Sport.

Having removed the centre console it appears that item 2 (in the image above) is starting to fail. The ball of one of the white plastic parts (the one pointed to by the number 2 actually) seems to have come out of the socket into which it looks it should be inserted.

As the car is now 14 years old and has been relegated to the duties of teaching the learner to drive I don't want to spend huge sums of money but need to make sure any second hard parts are going to fit.

Related question, is it possible to fit the gearbox end of the cables on a driveway?

I recently done a set of cables on a C4 & just done them on a set of drive on ramps on a driveway. Citroen only sold the complete unit again & was going to be over £250.
Ended up getting a brand new aftermarket set for around a third of the price, just comes with the cables without the whole gear-lever assembly.

If its just a worn linkage you may get away with a repair kit if there is enough room for it. You can get different types.
The one I replaced was a broken cable so these were no good.

This is what I am dealing with:

I was wondering whether it would be possible to shape some kind of acrylic block to force the lever to into the correct place.

The issue that caused me to start poking around was not being able to move the gear stick to the left to engage 1st or 2nd gear.

In theory you could bond it into place but it looks like the inner cable has now kinked which means it may jam in the outer cable.

Also does anyone know how to release the cables from the gearstick end, as I'm not sure i need cables or gearstick housing.

If any one can help me out it would be much appreciated
