Hi,
I have a 2016 DS5 (LHD - I Live in Spain). Vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
When I turn on the car most of the time the audio system does not omit any sound, on all modules (Nav, Radio, Apple Play), then on a few occasions it works perfectly. The screen always works perfectly. The car has the Denon sound system.
I was contemplating doing a BSI reset but I'm a bit nervous that it might result in more trouble!
Any help and advice would be appreciated guys. Thanks

This will likely need a diagnostic with Diagbox to determine the source of the fault, assuming you have already checked the wiring connections and power to the Amplifier.

Thanks Marc,
Are there any instructions anywhere on how and where I can find the amp?

If you have the Connected Nav system, then the amplifier is incorporated into the loudspeaker unit (bass box) which is located in the rear right-hand side of the inner boot area. There should be 3 bolts (the top bot is covered). Once carefully removed, the connections are on the inner side, so be careful not to pull it away too much before unclipping the connections.
This is the other side showing the connections:

Re: DS5 No Sound from Audio - Sometimes!
Thanks Marc very much appreciated.
I’ll find an auto audio specialist and get the amp and connections checked - very relieved that I don’t need to take the dash apart!
If the amp is found to be faulty do you know the part number of the amp?
Thanks again

No problem, if you can't already find the info you need on the Forum, we do ask for a membership upgrade for official parts data as we are in turn charged for this. It will cover you for future parts requests for up to 2 years, so excellent value.
If interested, links are below - you've already supplied the VIN.

No problem, thanks for your Forum Donation.
(8) Loudspeaker Deep Tone Amplifier, part: 1606864280, £832.18
All prices are UK VAT inclusive and ordered from Citroen directly.
Let's just hope it's not the amp, but a proper diagnostic with Diagbox should allow the Audio system to be checked as there are tests available. It may be a loose connection. Have you undertaken any work or fitted anything recently?

Re: DS5 No Sound from Audio - Sometimes!
I don't have the wiring for the later DS5 with certain updated options, but it may be worth checking out the following fuses.
On the older equipment with RT6 unit and amplifier, there were a couple of fuse locations:
In the BSI, Fuse F32 (amplifier - radio - telematics - head-up display screen), which I have circled in red below:
In the Cabin Fuse box (BFH3, Fuse F12) below:
But, like I say, they may have changed options with the later Connected Nav system. But may be worth a check.

Thanks,
I’ve not touched anything and it’s been into a Citroen garage here in Spain but they say I need to go to a DS workshop because their Citroen computer can’t test the the audio system.

Re: DS5 No Sound from Audio - Sometimes!
That's plausible as the later DS-badged versions often require the specific parts and diagnostics for those specific models. Each marque has a hefty annual subs cost, so I can understand the Citroen Franchised dealer not wanting to incur additional costs for the DS marque.
Citroen dealerships will support the earlier Citroen-badged models though, but yours being built on 13th April 2016, it would of been at the later end before production ceased in 2018.
Best of luck with it.
