Torque settings - 3008 Injectors

Post by BenConWex »

Hello all,

Newb's first post here. Bit of background: My wife has a 2011 Peugeot 3008 1.6 Hdi sport. Has been having recurring error with "Risk of Particle filter cogging". Had it brought to a reputable independent who ran diagnostics. Said DPF system was OK - issue was that 3 of 4 injectors were failing - poor combustion then leading to particle filter error. Recommended replacing the 4 injectors.

I've since ordered 4 new injectors. I'm wondering if anyone has a step by step guide, and maybe specific torque settings for this particular engine? Any help would be much appreciated. I won't be doing the work myself, but would like to be able to give it to my local garage, as it won't be going to a main dealer. I've heard the settings can be fairly specific, so I'd like to provide as much info as possible to the garage when handing it over.

Any help much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this!

Welcome along!

2011 is on the change over from the 16V to the 8V engine - and the injector clamps and torques are very different - can you confirm which it is? 16V are very sensitive and easily damaged / 8V much more robust!

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply.

Any advice on how to tell if it's 8v or 16v?

I’ll get back to you shortly on the other matter, but you have an outstanding after-sales campaign on your vehicle!

This is a DV6C engine and I know that some of these issues affect the injectors and or timing issues, so I would get it in before you do any work on the injectors in case it involves this. The work will be free if charge, but if it has had any intervention by a third party they may decline to do it.

It means there is remedial work that needs carrying out that has been identified and your vehicle (from it's VIN) indicates the work is outstanding. It's not a safety recall, but it is potentially important that you get it done.

I can't tell you specifically what it is for, only the dealer can do that, once you call them and provide the VIN. All I can tell you is that some members have had significant work done FOC as a result. It may be a software update, but equally it could mean new injectors or clamps or timing - or something entirely different.

Hi Marc,

Main dealer has said it is timing belt and labour, not including water pump. Thank you very much for the heads up!

And thanks for the torque settings!

Well at least that will save you a few quid - but if it was me, I would certainly see if they will do the tensioner pulleys / rollers and the water pump for you if you offered to pay for those parts and the small extra bit of labour.....

^ ^ ^ Exactly what I was going to suggest. And ask about a new auxiliary belt as well as this has to come off to get to the timing belt.
