Just a thought. Is the EGR valve electrically or vacuum operated? The reason I ask was because, on my first C5, the EGR would play up. A friend who knew about them found a tiny pinhole in the vacuum pipe very close to the valve. He nipped the pipe back, and the EGR stopped complaining.

Hell Razor5543 i think you may of found my problem I've just remembered the black plastic part has mastic around the joining to the metal body i didn't know that till i took it off last week only to put it back on you only see it when its turned the other way. I reckon the o ring that seals the unit may of failed then the previous owner didn't want to open the egr up so just whacked black mastic around it

Ah ok, you need something a bit more modern to run virtual machines. Disregard my previous comment :)

If you want to wipe and reinstall Windows, I've got loads of XP installation CDs. Let me know if you want me to stick one in the post
So Just windows XP is 32bit
Xp pro is 64bit
My Diagbox v7 is ... 32bit .. theres my problem

That's not the case Husky.

There were multiple versions of XP, aimed at from the home user to corporates and included different features and capabilities depending on what you needed.

XP was available in either 32 or 64 bit for most versions.

Where this is relevant regarding VMs is the host operating system. and hardware. 1) The host hardware must support virtualisation technology and 2) You generally need 64 bit hardware to run VMs. VMWare Player hasn't supported VMs on a 32 bit host since about version 6. Hyper V (windows VM software) won't run on a 32 bit host.

That's an error concerning VMs on older software - PP2000 and Lexia software are older 16 bit programmes that aren't supported on native 64 Bit systems unless running in a 32 bit VM.

There are 32- and 64-bit versions of XP Pro.

I've never had any luck with 64-bit versions of Windows when it comes to this kind of thing. Best to stick to 32-bit Windows if possible.

Like I wrote before, if you need a 32-bit install disk for XP let me know. I've got a box of them. :-D

Check on the underside of your laptop. Most manufacturers put the license sticker there. You MUST get the right version of XP for the license, as XP Home will not work with an XP Pro license, and vice versa.

You can install any version you want (but 64 Bit versions require 64 bit architecture) and change the licence as needed according to the version you want to install. The licence sticker on the laptop only applies to the original factory installed version of course.
