Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
Are the front driveshafts and engine/transmission mounts the same as a standard 2.0l AMT6 model? the vin no for my 3008 is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission monts
Doesn't look like it... The driveshafts are for the semi auto box only, which only seems to be on the Hybrid. The gearbox mount is probably the same, at least in parts.

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
The front shafts have stickers on them that say PSA 96 719 996 80 and 96 719 997 80. How does this compare to the part numbers above? Can these shafts be changed without resetting the transmission ecu?

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
Those are the longer international part numbers for your driveshafts. The numbers I provided are the official PSA part numbers which may be either their shorter internal numbers or a number like those you quoted. I can only provide the official ones as listed by PSA for you.
I can't see anything listed about the transmission ECU needing resetting for the driveshaft replacements.

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
Thanks for that.
My local garage is reluctant to fit drive shafts claiming the gearbox ecu needs reset if any fluid is topped up.
I suspect my vibration is an inner CV joint on the nsf shaft. I can get a shaft but no one locally wants to work on Hybrids or EVs.

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
Ok, this is a different matter. As you have a piloted manual gearbox it's a bit more complicated and they may be confused:-
The gearbox itself is a manual gearbox and if you lose any oil as part of the driveshaft replacement, then you need to top that up with the same amount that came out so this has to be carefully measured. That requires no special operation.
I think the mechanics are getting confused with the piloting actuators which operate the gear change and clutch mechanisms. These are hydraulically controlled. This system shouldn't need to be touched as far as I'm aware. But if the piloted actuators needed oil topping up, then the oil level must be checked and topped up if necessary when the system is depressurised and to do that you need a capable diagnostic tool like Diagbox. But this is a separate job and shouldn't have any bearing on the driveshaft replacement.

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
That's exactly what I understand. I think they are just not interested. Two of my local garages actually won't even entertain it because of the high voltage battery and cables. There are other places I just would not trust. So the hunt is on for a reliable garage to fit the front drive shaft to see if my diagnosis of a worn inner CV is correct. My knee pain stops me working unless things are up on a ramp nowadays. I just don't have the facilities nowadays.

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
At long last I have been proved right. It was an inner CV joint failure. Probably caused by a clumsy change of broken front springs! Not going to elaborate but I am looking for a reliable garage to do my servicing and MOTs now.
I have put up pictures on my other thread about vibrations elsewhere.
I rebuilt a secondhand shaft for a fraction of the cost of a Peugeot Exchange Unit including importing it from Lithuania! Now that I have done that I now know where to get the bits I needed in the UK, but needs must!
The biggest problem with a lot of Peugeot/Citroen driveshafts is the staked spider joints instead of circlips but, once passed that problem, everything else is straightforward and I rebuilt the shaft quite easily really.
The car is now driving perfectly without the "buckled wheel" feeling through the car. My fault for letting it develop as far as it did, but, in my defence, I have never personally experienced these symtoms before and usually I would have dealt with burst boots long before damage occurred. I just did not find that the boot was cut. The dollop of silicone sealer over the cut disguised it! Not going to elaborate more!
Found this originally when I put my neighbour's son under the car with a camera. Anyone want a chimney swept! Poor lad got no real choice!

95% certain its the inner near side joint but could be gearbox.
Where did you get your parts to rebuild the inner joint?
Can you list exactly what was needed & how you did it?
Cheers

Re: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 driveshafts and transmission mounts
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I got the secondhand shaft through Ebay. I notice that more and more of the later/new style 3008 Hybrids are being broken and their parts look remarkably similar to the first series ones - will need a bit more investigating to see what is the same and what isn't. All of the boots, clips etc were bought off the net. Main dealer prices and availability force you to go to other Peugeot part suppliers, plus their knowledge is invaluable.
I started by stripping the replacement shaft completely down to pieces. Usually the tripod spiders are held on with circlips but these ones were staked in place. I used a Dremel mini grinder tool to remove just enough metal to slide the spiders off and re-staked them back on with a punch when I did the assembly. The parts were all thoroughly cleaned and inspected then re-assembled with high grade CV grease and new boots and clips. To this day I still don't have the part numbers for the individual joints, just the complete shaft. I have just sold the car at 118000 miles and the shaft ran perfectly. It was really just a double CV joint strip down and repack. If you can do a CV joint, you can do this. The only tricky bit is the staked spider splines.
If I find more part numbers or info, I will put it here.
