Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number

Unread post by Nego2403 »

I'm looking for a part number for the right drive shaft for a Citroën C3 with VIN number VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Is it possible to pull the driveshaft directly out of the gearbox or is it secured in some way?
The reason I'm asking is that I don't see any hanger bearing.

I've been changing the drive shaft and the new shaft doesn't look like the old. On my car it looks like the drive shaft on the right side of the car doesn't have a support bearing outside of the gearbox.
The drive shaft looks the same on both sides. The only difference is that the right drive shaft is a little bit longer.

They are different parts for the right and left drive shaft. I only provided the one you asked for (right side), so if you need the left drive shaft part number, let me know.

The eccentric bolt heads are not present on my car. The driveshaft is going directly into the gearbox without any bearing in between. It looks like the bearing is just inside the gearbox. I've checked a parts supplier for the driveshaft and there's two types of driveshafts listed for my car.

The first one is the same as the one in the diagram where the eccentric bolts are mentioned. (which is not on my car):

The second one is shorter and the bearing is also closer to the gearbox(looks like the one on my car):

I'm not sure which of these is the right one. Other than this, is the repair manual in general for the DV6FD engine or is it specifically for the C3?

Unfortunately I can only help you official Citroen parts, as aftermarket suppliers can be notoriously bad or the wrong type, depending where you source them from. I put the guide up above for you, so everything you need should be listed there including the lip seals.

That is understandable. But it's weird for me, when I search the part number you've provided the driveshaft that comes up is much shorter than the one on the diagram. Is the diagram wrong? When I look under my car I don't have the part #12 which is holding the bearing.

Make sure you are not getting your right and left mixed up!

Left and right sides are determined as you are sitting in the driver's seat. So as per the diagram (2) the right hand driveshaft is longer than the left hand driveshaft (1).

The nuts (8, 9 & 10) are separate parts.

Yes I understand that :D When I look under my car on the side closest to the timing belt, I see no support bearing. The shaft is going directly into the gearbox. As I understand it is pretty hard to pull out the axle if the two eccentric bolts are not loosened and turned a quarter way.

In my case there is no such thing and the axle pulls straight out. It is much shorter and looks like the one on the picture I posted above. The reason I'm asking this is because I'm unsure if I need to release some bolts before removing the driveshaft or if the eccentric bolts are built into the gearbox and not visible from underneath.

If you see this link: https://www.b-parts.com/da/store/produc ... 8680-2012/

You can see that the part number doesn't match with the diagram. The drive shaft on the diagram is not the same.

Can you take a photo from underneath and post it up?

Is it a 1.6 diesel you are dealing with?

Yes I can. I will be working on the car in a couple of weeks. I will be posting pictures when I get under the car again. Yes the engine is a 1.6 BlueHdi 100.
