Hi there
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My Peugeot 2008 130BHP 1.2 petrol 2018 model is typically now out of warranty and has an oil pressure warning issue. I thought I'd start by replacing the oil pressure switch and can't for the life of me locate it (my experience on working on cars has mostly been the classic mini's I've owned).
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Luke

Before you do anything like that, I would read the following:
You will have an EB2 3 Cylinder petrol engine.
These have a 'belt in oil' system, so the oil has to be the exact recommended oil so as not to react with the timing belt. These are well-known to suffer with timing belt shredding, that leads to the debris from the belts blocking up the oil channels and in worst cases oil starvation leading to engine destruction!
The initial timing service on some models are about 60k miles, and the belts are usually replaced with an improved version. So the first sign of a problem can be the oil pressure - alerting you to a blockage.
I would restrict use of the vehicle and contact Peugeot as soon as possible and advise them you suspect this may have the dodgy timing belt issue. They should look favourably on this as they are aware of the issues on these engines.
Pop up your VIN and the mileage you have covered so I can have a look to confirm.

Hi Marc
The car has done just over 42k. the vin number is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
Not sure if I'll the garage will look favorably on this, but I can hope.

Yep, this is one of those, so your warranty ended 6th September 2021, so only a couple of months out. Give them a call as I’ve seen others here get Adblue tanks (known issue) replaced even a year or so out of warranty as they know these have problems.
You have nothing to lose.

Thanks for the insight. I'll give the garage a ring on Monday.

Re: 2008 oil pressure switch location (2018 130BHP)
I've called up the dealership (Robins & Day), who have booked it in for diagnostics, but not until 11th Jan. Which leaves me carless for now.
I removed the oil cap and took a photo of the belt, which I've attached. No idea if it looks bad or not, but thought I'd share.
Thanks
Luke

That doesn't look too healthy to me! It's hard to tell, but the older belts do 'shed' and this can lead to blockages.
Have a look at my post here with 2 videos on these.....

The official test is to measure the width, but that looks knackered to me!!

Re: 2008 oil pressure switch location (2018 130BHP)
So now over 70 days without the car....
Called up the dealership Monday 13th December and the earliest slot available was the 11th Jan.
Car sat stationary until a flatbed recovered it to the dealership.
They diagnosed the fault and it was the timing belt.
Car took weeks to repair as they were waiting on a replacement vacuum pump for it too.
Collected car on 19th Feb, drove about home and in that time an engine fault warning came on, stating the car needed repair, drove back to dealership that day.
Had a call on Monday 21st from the dealership, say that it was a P2195, that it was the oxygen senor, at over £300 for the part and unrelated to the initial fault.
Have since been going back and forth with them. They came back and told me that the fault had first registered on 23/21/21, which I told them was impossible, as the car hadn't moved since early December.
I've now raised this with Peugeot Customer Care as getting nowhere with the dealership and they refuse to agree that the fault code is related - I'm assuming they want to make some money from me. Hopefully Peugeot will do something.

The fault codes are stored and a log is maintained of the fault codes and when they appear. So they may have gone into the log and seen the history of when that particular fault was triggered. If the fault is cleared and reappears, it should show both dates of triggering.
