Image

"A" : Differential pressure (mbar).
"B" : Volume flow rate of exhaust gases (l/h).
"a" : Intermediate zone.
"b" : Filter overloaded.
"c" : Filter clogged.
Thanks Marc

But what does that actually mean as I'm sorry i do not understand

Thanks

From the latest picture and as Richard mentioned, your differential pressure is showing as 242 Mbars.

The differential pressure is shown vertically on the graph as 'A' which puts you between the 200 and 300 mbar mark. Going across, this therefore puts the reading in the orange area 'b' which indicated the filter is overloaded. The Mbar reading 'A' will increase if the DPF cannot regenerate and may ultimately end up in the 'c' zone were it will be almost totally clogged and unlikely to be able to regenerate.

Interesting graph, Marc!

IIRC you can graph variables by going into the ECU then parameter measurements, then custom or similar, which will allow you to select the ones you want to see. Not done it for a while, terms might be slightly different!

Have you done any other repairs recently, e.g. injector replacement?

Wow thanks for the explanation on that,

No other repairs done apart from turbo actuator position sensor changed and that's it,

The wierd thing is that the car normally regens around every 220miles but every now and again it trys to regen every 34 miles does that a few times then goes back to every 220miles,

Could this be a sensor playing up such as the differential pressure sensor as this fault seems intermittent

Thanks

Well this car at the moment has a mind of its own as it done another regeneration on the way home from work, at the time i was stuck in stop start traffic and cars temperature was not even right up.

So got home scanned it and found more codes....

Please see images, also done a live scan on my drive and some of the readings seem to be all over the place, please see video

Thanks all your help is very much appreciated

Having trouble uploading video so it's here on YouTube

I wonder if you've actually got a broken wire somewhere which is upsetting the signals, given that the faults seem to be inconsistent. The temperature sensor on the exhaust is reading a constant 149°C so that doesn't appear to be right. What does it read engine off, and just after a start? The O2 sensor is also showing as invalid, but this may only be used during re-gen, not sure (or the car may not actually have one!). Clear all the codes out, then wiggle all the wires around the engine bay with the engine idling and see if you can create a fault code. If you've got a multimeter you could check the resistance of the exhaust temp sensor cold and hot to see if it is changing.

I will try and have a look and see if i can replicate the problem,

I really want to try and find the issue and give an explanation of what's happening....

Thanks again all for your help

Post up the VIN and I'll check if an O2 sensor is shown.

Ok,

Some info to report back...

Cars been sat for 7 hours so cold.

Cleared fault codes as suggested,

Looked at exhaust line information with engine off, that sensor is reading 149°C
With the engine running still the same and also at approx 3000rpm still the same 149°C

You can see in the image the temperature gauge of the car is on next to zero as just started up..

Thanks

I can't see an O2 sensor on the exhaust. The temp sensor is located half way down the cat / DPF, next to the top pressure sensing pipe, I'd start with checking the cable to it, and measuring the resistance.

Many thanks,

Is this it,

If i am standing at the front of the car it's on the side of the DPF about half way up just behind the radiator.

Thanks

First of all apologies for the very slow response.

I checked the wiring all looks ok, so unplugged the sensor and done a resistance check and got this so am i correct in saying the sensor is no good?

Many thanks
