Snapped automatic gear selector

When placing the car in to "Park" the gear selector snapped off about 2cm from. The bottom. I tried to superglue it but, that lasted 2 minutes. Any ideas on how this can be repaired? Would it be covered under extended warranty? I can still awkwardly change from drive to neutral, reverse etc but it's not ideal.
It's on a c4 picasso bluehdi 1.6 eat6 2016 model.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, it may well be covered under extended warranty as this is not what I would classify as a traditional wear & tear item. If it was structurally defective for it to contribute towards snapping - that's what I would go with as it could be dangerous, so I would push for a warranty replacement as I've not heard of this happening before.

I'd be surprised if they covered this under warranty, Even less likely now you have put superglue on it.

As an easyish fix vs disassembly, I'd think about drilling into both halves and insert a metal rod like part of a nail. Glue will bond much better and the strain will be transferred to the rod. Epoxy would probably be more stable with summer dashboard temperatures but cover everything because you don't want that on the dash.

Post up the VIN and we can check the exact part no, but there only appears to be one - sadly it's £310.... It's just a plug in module, so you should be able to get one from a breaker - e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384437042039 ... SwaFNhBBdN still £150 though....

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Is it possible to get a second hand module and replace the arm/stalk? Would a new module need programming at all

That's the right one, part no: 98 002 212 VV

I can't imagine it needs coding, but I can't see any info about it.

Could you show me an example of what you mean please?

This is something similar but with wood Link Here.
The hardest part would be getting the holes to line up on both bits of metal but you can get the metal dowels from places like Here

Thanks Richard. With the Vin number is it possible you could tell me which version of disc and pads I need on my car please ? Its coming up with 2 size options when I enter my reg in to sites.

Thanks for your reply, but looking at it, it's so flimsy and not solid plastic throughout bizarrely, I don't think this method would be an option unfortunately.
