20CQ66 is casting shape and final drive ratio.
1009973 is internal gear ratios.

Correct?
20CQ66 is the part number of the complete gearbox. Any gearbox with that number will have the same ratios.

I am trying to understand this post.

Part number is 20CQ66?

What specific markings?

Is there an exploded view anywhere. I am struggling to understand what could have gone wrong inside.

I have removed the ident bolt that I think makes the "gearlever across" movement have notches and it is OK.

I am pretty sure it is the across where the problem lies I have seen similar things before on other gearboxes where, for example, it will come out of a gear but the selector rod does not click to neutral and it clicks back into gear with the gearlever in neutral. This can result in two gears at once which is fairly terminal and you being unable to select certain gears. I think I possibly have a similar problem but an exploded view will allow me to decide the best course of action.

If you can't already find the info on the Forum, and if you want the PSA internal part number for the gearbox and a diagram of the identification, then I've already explained the procedure:

OK, Sorry. I thought it was a general forum for helping people that are stuck not a forum for raising money.

Enjoy.

The PSA Group charges for access to their databases. Normally this is charged by the hour, ad the clock starts when you pay, and then continues until the money runs out REGARDLESS IF YOU ARE LOGGED IN OR NOT. This means that, should you pay for an hour but only remain logged in for 10 minutes, the remaining 50 minutes are NOT retained for you to use when you next log back in.

However, the Forum has managed to get a deal with the PSA for access to the databases. This does cost the Forum (as I am NOT a member of the Forum staff I do not know how much this is), but any members who pay the required fee will then have up to two years worth of searches available to them (from when they made the contribution), so this should work out to be a much better financial deal for any members who take this up.

The costs of our having uninterrupted access to the new chargeable PSA/Stellantis parts database (Servicebox) for both Citroen and Peugeot are considerable, and mean that most private owners could not justify the cost. The small donation we ask for (minimum of just £10) allows all donors have Parts info (and forum the Resources area) via the forum for up to two calendar years. That is extraordinarily good value, and quite likely to enable a saving in just one well-aimed parts purchase, either from PSA direct, or from another channel.

There are also other forum and web costs to be met (IT services etc) as well as sundry costs associated with building and maintaining a technical reference library.

Forum staff usually operate out-of-pocket (literally) on many items, with home space and equipment taken up by forum demands. We do it because we think it worthwhile. None of us gets paid for time or effort.

The choice of whether to be a Donor to the forum is entirely yours.

I fear you're both too late as Mjolinor has probably buggered off with his own view of the forum. Ah well, tant pis!

I don't know quite what he was expecting but to get access to manufacturer's information is going to cost someone and a Forum as good as this doesn't run on goodwill alone. It takes time and effort as well as paying for it's costs. Try going to your local dealer and asking for the answers he was already anticipating in advance. Besides, he was free to search the Forum to find threads relating to his questions.

Found this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284483875459 ... SwrfRhYzKP

It appears to be a download of the Dealer Workshop Manual for the C3

Iffy possibly, but if correct it could be a good resource for someone working on a C3 circa 2011

Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Although the symptoms are slightly different, I think that it is likely that the underlying problem with your gearbox is that the 5th gear nut has come loose, causing the 5th gear selector fork to wear and break, putting the internal selection mechanism out of alignment. See https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 9&start=30 for example.

That thread gives quite a bit of useful information. Worth a read I think.

I'd be surprised if he comes back and reads any of this. He's made his mind up that we're only in it for the money.
