Started the car up today and the heater blower came on when I started the engine, and stays on (at a high speed) regardless of what settings I set on the climate control panel. Even turning the fan off it still stay on. It does go a bit faster if I select the windscreen defrost button, but that's about the only change to the speed (and noise!) of the blower.
Any ideas of what the cause might be?

Re: Citroen C5 heater blower fault
As you already PM'd me with the same question - I had responded there before seeing you posted here, but same info follows - I've deleted the PM as it is better to post in the main Forums.
It'll be the same unit most likely - The Blower Motor Control Module:
Diagrams for location here in the link (passenger side)

The link for accessing the control unit says “passenger side” but is showing pedals? Is it the correct diagram for a right hand drive?
Seems easy enough to access the control unit.
I’ve an almost identical 2009 C5 mk3 VTR+ HDI with a working blower, am I able to just swap the control units over (to confirm whether it’s a control unit problem)?

Re: Citroen C5 heater blower fault
Ignore that - it is the same for left and right hand vehicles. The blower control unit is on the left (UK passenger) side and is the same regardless of RHD / LHD. The diagrams just show a left hand drive vehicle - so will be easier for you without the pedals in the way.
Whilst I was changing my pollen filter on my X7, I took some photos for a guide and in a couple of pictures (J10 & J9) you can see the pictures of the Blower Motor Control Module:
viewtopic.php?t=56902
Yes, the BMCMs are the same for the X7
In the guide, you will also see how to remove the lower trim panels and the lower trim of the glovebox to ease access.

Re: Citroen C5 heater blower fault
Quick update ..
Found the control unit .. 10 minute job thanks to the spot on instructions from Marc
Control unit was quite stiff to remove. Couldn’t do it by hand but managed with the use of a pair of pliers.
Swapped a working control unit from my 2009 C5 with the one in the 2015 C5 and blower worked as it should. Put original unit back in and fault was back.
Ordered a replacement from Amazon, which should be with me within the next few days
Thanks for the help Marc

Re: Citroen C5 heater blower fault
No worries - but do be wary of units from eBay and Amazon - they are rife with fakes. Do go for a branded one like BEHR or Valeo if you can.

Couldn't find a branded one on Amazon, so bought one that had the highest rated reviews .. turned out to be Chinese, and turned out it doesn't work!GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑09 Aug 2021, 14:44 No worries - but do be wary of units from eBay and Amazon - they are rife with fakes. Can anyone help with a link to a branded one that will be reliable?

Re: Citroen C5 heater blower fault
Managed to pick up a MAHLE branded control unit off Amazon for £52. Was very lucky as it was the last one in stock.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08 ... UTF8&psc=1
Arrived today, fitted. Fan now working as should. Looks like thats it sorted.
Not had a chance to take for a run to check heater yet, but will report back if there are any issues.
Huge thank you to Marc, aka GiveMeABreak, for turning a £300+ garage repair into a £52 Amazon purchase.
Morale of the story .. buy cheap buy twice.
