Hi guys,
I want to change tie rods, I got this tool:
But in servicebox they use also another tool (see attachment). Is it necessary? Do I need this tool also? Do I risk damaging something by not using it? I haven't seen such thing in any tie rod removal videos.

It's to prevent damage to the steering mechanism during the slackening-tightening of the track rod. If it wasn't required, they wouldn't be using it officially...

So finally I changed only outer tie rods, just in case, inner tie rods look still ok. Do you know where I can buy the tool shown on the second pic? I cannot find such a thing. Thank you.

Thinking of changing them too as I get steering wheel vibration only when turning right and only when I accelerate at the same time.
Can't by tyres as I don't get vibration under any other circumstances and have changed them anyway.
I was concerned about the lower ball joint but every mechanic that has checked the car was happy this is not the cause.
Driving shaft - again checked and no issues and would probably get some vibration when accelerating irrespective of steering wheel position.
Anything else that hasn't been eliminated yet?

A loud vibration noise comes from the left side. Top and lower cv-joints have been replaced. Now doubting the tie-rods.
But i've read one of your posts stated it was fixed when replacing the entire strut. Which seems strange to me as mine has been done 2 years ago..

Maybe the outer cv joint on the left drive shaft is worn (not the ball joints which you appear to have changed but called cv joints). How many miles (km) has it done ?

The lower joint(frip) is the one I would look at first, it cannot be "tested" without lifting the cars wheel off the ground and then use a pry bar to see if there is movement.
Many mechanics do not know about this joint or how to test it.....your symptoms seem to be common for that joint (they have a shortish life)
