C5x7 inner tie rod replacement advice

Hi all, I'll need to replace the inner steering joints at some point and wonder if anyone has done this on a c5x7.

I was told that there is a strong locktite on the threads that takes a lot of effort to budge. I also heard that old locktite had to be completely cleared out before the new joint is screwed in and that this can be troublesome. I think there is a special remover for this.

And would anyone know if the gaiters are likely to be reusable?

.. actually, I see from a further search on here that there is a special tool for this to prevent damage to the rack.
