Peugeot 3008 sat nav not working

I have a Peugeot 3008 2010 and the sat nav started saying I was miles from where I was so I was told to do a system reboot and factory reset since doing this my sat nav is displaying a green screen with red arrow says zone not mapped and compass is pointing north constantly can anyone help me please.

There are several possibilities, the most common:

1) If you have reset the system, be aware that it takes 10 minutes of actual driving - not sitting stationary in the car for the system's GPS module to lock on to the satellites. So try this.
2) If this was an issue that happened before you reset anything then it is likely that either your GPS aerial has become detached from the back of the head unit, or water ingress has occurred at the aerial base on the roof and may have caused problems.

Thank you!!!!! I have had the head unit out, I've detached all the wires and reattached didn't make any difference, changed the external ariel antenna didn't make a difference but haven't changed the actual base unit I will get one of these and try that.

Before you do that, and if you have a cheapy GPS aerial that you can plug in the back of the head unit temporarily, do that and set it up on the windscreen so it can receive the signals then go for a drive of 3 miles minimum and about 10 minutes. Again this is needed to localise the satellites.

This will determine if it is the GPS aerial or not. If you still have no satellites and have ruled out the GPS aerial, then it may well be the actual Head Unit.

The phone radio CD is working it stores destinations in if I input them just doesn't pick anything up or says its calculate the journey.

So definitely sounds like the aerial or the internal GPS tuner. So see how you get on with the aerial first Jane.

Is there a way you can help me. I have peugeot 308 2012 and I keep getting this message zone not mapped on my instrument panel. The GPS is working fine on the screen though! Any thoughts?

That is indicative of an area (typically rural) that is not on the installed map, so can't show any detail.

How many satellites do you have visible? The number can be seen on the map on the main display screen.

If I am on a road that has been built since the last update of the satnav maps then I get the zone not mapped message. The back ground map is still shown.

There is nothing wrong with the C5 sat nav, it just needs an update so the latest roads are on it.

When you had that problem did you see a message about number of satellites you sat nav was seeing. Mine is showing the message “ 0 satellites available “. Thanks

I have not seen any satellite messages on the cars but I have on hand held gps units for walking. For the gps it means it is not detecting any satellites so needs longer to find them. On a car it might mean you are in a tunnel or the aerial or something else is not working.
