Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
My C5 gear selector has a simple issue which is that the spring loaded detent in the mechanism, which acts against the selector cover to hold the gearstick in position, has broken and pings out as the lever is put into park. Is there an exploded view of the mechanism showing the ball topped detent and its spring?

Re: Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
Thanks Marc, It would appear from that diagram that the part I need is number 10 and comes as a complete housing with the detent installed. Any chance of a part number for it or is it discontinued? Cheers

Re: Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
Item (10) is called the Hardness Tester (?)
Part number is 240778 and is £11.41 from Citroen inc. VAT - still showing as available.

Re: Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
Sorry to be a complete pain Marc by I cannot find a link in any citroen websites or my dealer website to order the part. Any ideas?

Re: Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
No, you can't Mick - you need to contact your local Citroen or Peugeot dealership and ask for Parts (or they may have another option if parts are not operating at present with lockdown). They can take payment over the phone as it will be an order in item. You'll then have to arrange to collect it via whatever procedures they have in place.

Re: Automatic Gear selector Mechanism
I don't know if I have the same problem, but almost every time when I'm pushing the lever from park its making clicking noise. I removed the cover and noticed that some plastic part is broken and moves to the right when I try to move from park. Anybody knows what might cause this?
