Customer Service - is it what it used to be?

Post by mickthemaverick »

This thread is designed to sweep up all our whinges about company service as well as our praise for doing a good job. In my opinion the most important thing of all is communication so that the consumer has an idea of what is going on. I have an example here of what it used to be like when you engaged a specialist company on a specific task to compare with my current situation of having an issue with our new washing machine, it has started squeaking, which I have emailed the company about, attaching a recording, and so far I have not had a reply.

Here is a reply I received (I'm afraid it is very faded and this is the best I could do!) when I asked if my new cue was ready yet:
Own work
Own work
true to their word 4 month's later I was invited to go and have my cue tuned before bringing it home. And I still have it now: :-D
Own work
Own work
As for the washing machine? still no reply!!

Today Mick a customer who received a letter like that would quickly be on Facebook/Twitter telling everyone what a s**t company they are. :(

I do believe you're right there Gibbo, but then there is the fact that not enough people would appreciate the workmanship necessary for such a task. Nowadays anything will do as long as it works once before you throw it away!! :x
