Peugeot 207 - Nomade/KML, microphone

Post by Ventori »

Hi guys,

1. How to check if my car (peugeot 207 2007r) has Nomade/Kml Telematic Unit? Is anybody know where it is located? And why some cars had it fitted and others not? What did it depend on? It is possible to check it by VIN?
2. I bought a genuine microphone because i didn't have one. I connected mic to mic harness (violet arrow) that was orignally included in my car. My question is, where i can find the end of connect of this harness mic? I mean an extension that runs under the ceiling through the A-pillar. Should there be a cube at the end? Where does this cable end its course?

The Nomad unit was only fitted if the customer requested a hands free telephone option when new with the RD4 Head Unit. Bluetooth was not standard equipment until the RD45 came out, when there was no need for the Nomad as the RD45 had Bluetooth built into the Head Unit.

For vehicles with the Nomad, the Microphone connection will be connected to the hands free unit and from there will end up going to the Quad Lock connector via the loom. The Nomad unit is located somewhere inside the dashboard on the right hand side.

I searched glove box but didn't find anything. So it means, the microphone connection is going straight to Quad Lock connector to my RD4? What if I upgrade my rd4 to rd45, the mic gonna work? I really care about the original hands-free kit.

Is that the same for RHD and LHD models? The OP is in Poland and presumably has a LHD car.

I checked twice for this KML/NOMADE and didn't find anywhere. Can you eventually check it by vin if i have it installed by factory? Tomorrow i'm going to order RD45 and want to be sure :D

The RD45 was not available when your car was built, so the microphone cable will be going to the NOMAD connector. When I fitted an RD45 to our 308, I worked around that issue by buying a stand-alone RD45 microphone cable from China.

But the problem is i can't find it in the glove box where most sources says. Maybe it is hide somewhere around BSI OBD2 socket next to steering column?

On the 308, I think it is on the left hand side of the car, for both LHD and RHD, but I don't know about the 207. I think it is a blue connector, but it may be wrapped in grey faom to stop t rattling.

The cable I bought goes from the microphone in the roof all the way to the RD45 in one piece. I think it is a genuine PSA cable, but I don't know which models used it.

It's not IN the glovebox, it's BEHIND it on the right hand side of the dashboard. To see it, you will have to remove the glovebox.

I simply couldn't find it behind the glovebox. There's nothing there so i presume mic cable is going to the Quad Lock connector to my radio.

But nevermind because i have already bought an RD45 and installed to my car. The unit working fine but i can't see the Phone icon in the menu of my display screen. So i suspect my software version is not updated enough. Below image of my display screen:

To have bluetooth working i heard i need to have at least v71 software? Is it somewhere officially confirmed by PSA or just rumors by users?
Assuming I find a suitable display, the phone icon should appear immediately after installing the display or do i need to activate is somehow?

My RD45 unit has 3 Fakras, what is this green for?

The green is theoretically for DAB, which was (reportedly) supported by the RD45 hardware, but there was never a software version released that supported it. Maybe the hardware did't really work.

For bluetooth streaming you need a display with v71 or newer, but I think that for bluetooth hands-free, an older display should work.

You do need to enable the hands-free option with Diagbox for the icon to appear, I think that the option is called NOMAD, maybe in the BSI configuration (I am not sure now).

Ok guys, i have installed RD45 and display v72. I activated all functions in diagbox and music streaming works. The last thing i need is the microphone. As i mentioned in my first post in this topic; i have bought and already installed genuine mic in the roof lamp.

But i cannot locate where the harness cable is end-up. I disassembled the plastic of the A-pillar and this is what i see:

May i please the schema of harness electricity on peugeot 207? Some screenshots like these:

I need to know where this harness is ending in my car, because i had it factory fitted (without micro itself) Help!
