Have been reading back on OP posts.
So a couple of questions.
#1 to OP #2 to everyone
1. Can you use the radio with key out of the ignition, ie press the on button and radio should work ( should work with aftermarket head unit ?)
2. If the OP can find the correct wire and splice like i did then until the Bodge wiring is removed nothing will change or just cause problems in fault finding ?

Warm up? The HDis I’ve had take ages to warm up, a good 5 or 6 miles in the cold weather and that’s with me “leaning on it” a bit on my back roads commute.

Re: First two weeks with the Xantia
Hello Colin and Jim.
How wonderful to see how well you have recovered.
All well here, I look at the forum about twice per week but haven’t contributed much over the recent years because I only know about the Xantia and C5 Mk I.
The 2002 C5 with AL4 is still making beautiful downshifts.
I’ll cobble my time-making machine so as to be able to post more often.
Best wishes.
Terry.

Re: First two weeks with the Xantia
There should be two +12 supplies to the radio
1 - via IGN switch (radio only works with IGN on, usually in Acc position)
2 - permanent +12 live (allows radio to be turned on even when IGN isn't; also keeps radio memory alive)
and
3 - +12 "lights on" (usually from panel lights, maybe sidelight circuit; when live, dims the radio display)
4 - Gnd
plus Antenna and Speaker connections

Re: First two weeks with the Xantia
Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately the car is up for sale now nice and cheap as my wife doesn't like it and I don't have the time to get these issues sorted.
