Hi from this corner of our little planet.
Me and my little Bee have just signed up...'53 Multispace (not Desire) 1.4i, 61k miles and still chugging about. I prefer the French name for its colour - Lucifer Red.
Upcoming jobs (when time permits):
1 remove the wheelchair hoist in the back and sell it;
2 apply sound insulation sticky sheets (when it gets warm again);
3 set up Lexia;
4 find out what Lexia thinks my VIN is, as no website recognises what's on the printed door pillar label;
5 add external temp sensor in wing mirror, replace the MFD with a 3-line one and the wiper stalk with one with a push button in its end (from a Picasso), for trip meter functions;
6 change the translucent plastic sheet with the main dials printed on it for another one, possibly home-printed;
7 fit wide angle wing mirrors.
oh - and new tyres and a service - almost forgot them!

Re: West Essex Berlingo
Hi, and to the Forum.
I can help with item 4. The VIN will be on the V5 logbook. It is also usually stamped into the offside wing, just under the bonnet, so when you open the bonnet you should see it. It may also be on a metal plate under the rear passenger seats. The number you are looking at is probably the RPO number (typically 5 numbers and two letters long; for example the RPO on my C5 is 10054CJ).

Re: West Essex Berlingo
Thanks HellRazor. I have raised this in posts on the Berlingo Forum last year when I first got the car; it is the VIN I am looking at and it is unrecognised by all the online parts websites etc. It begins VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] if that helps. It's a '53 1.4i MS (not Desire).
I note elsewhere that full VIN numbers get hidden on this forum, so if that can be confirmed I will post the whole number if you can do anything with it. Any help esp. with something as important as this is much appreciated.
Update - ah, I see in the post preview that the VIN is automatically blocked out, so it is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. If you're not one of those outside the core group who can see it, please can one of them give a hand?? TIA and all that.
I have bought Lexia and all that's needed for it but work (truck driving) combined with all sorts of more important/more urgent things during time off means I just haven't been able to set it up and get familiar with it yet.
I've only just joined FCF as I may be buying a Dispatch or C8 in a year or 2...

I am NOT forum staff, but it will not take long for one of them to pick up this thread and help. I would be very surprised if it took as long as 24 hours.

Re: West Essex Berlingo
Pretty sure the VIN should also be in the windscreen behind the passenger side wiper! It was on my 2004 Berlingo.

Your VIN is incorrect incidentally - the fourth character is a 'G' not a 'B'.
So I have your VIN (BERLINGO VP (M59) ESTATE VAN 1.4i 75 (TU3JP) Manual gearbox 5)

Re: West Essex Berlingo
Marc, that's amazing - straight to the point! I originally got the 11th digit wrongly as a B (it had crud on it) and managed to spot that, but you might not believe how many times I've read and re-read the number, cleaned the metal VIN plate under the bonnet and the sticker on the pillar, and never noticed this one!
Happy to buy you a virtual pint and pie - since we can't buy real ones now.
To others - yes, sorry this turned into a technical query - it really did begin life as a new member greeting. My only excuse is that's so often how real life natters go... round the houses several times!
VIN in windscreen - not on my car! Must be one of the few not to have it - no idea why. It isn't even due to a replacement screen without a VIN window in its black edge - I looked very closely under it.
But thankyou all for your help and time. I'm just relieved that the problem isn't more sinister after all.

Hi Hagrid
That's great, thanks - your member status has been upgraded.
Regarding your VIN, this should help you identify the various plates. (A) should provide the VIN.
(A): Chassis stamp (cold stamp on the bodywork).
(B): Vehicle manufacturer’s plate.
(C): Additional plate.
(D): Rating label.
(E): Paint colour code.
(F): Build code (DAM).
(G): Gearbox reference - production serial number.
(H): Engine legislative type - production serial number.

Re: West Essex Berlingo
Thanks Marc.
If D is a sticker on the door pillar, then my one also has the VIN, RPO, and paint code.
Intriguing that your diag does not include a windscreen VIN number - maybe my car isn't alone after all.
BTW in case they are of help to anyone, I found these websites informative today:

VINs demystified:

Includes a link to a page explaining Peugeot VINs in detail.
