The cars live data before going on a little run to try and do a driving force regeneration was:

at tick over
dpf pressure sensor: 6 mbar
soot:3.38 g/l
ash/cinder in the particle filter 100%

after trying to perform a driving regeneration which failed it would not perform one i am assuming this will be because certain parameters are not met like the ash deposited in the dpf ash/cinder reaching 100%

but on the way back home the car did a regen itself and after this the live data said

at tick over
dpf pressure sensor: 5 mbar
soot: 0.11 g/l
ash/cinder in the particle filter 100% (this did not change)

and distance travelled since last regeneration: 4.97 mile

i was going to have a go and try and get the scan tool to do a static regen but i have been reading online and when the ash/cinder load gets above 90% a force regen will not work

Here a link to the live data after a force regen
These are stationary data readings

Ok, so I know that the DV6TED engines have an expected Particle Filter life of 180k KM or 111k Miles approx, so the current issues would suggest it is at end of life.

i just spent 10 minutes replying and i think i hit the wrong bloody button as its not showing up

yes you are right but after doing some reading on the pressure sensor data it is still saying its perfect so i have just told the ecu a new one is fitted so the data now reads 0% soot content and replacement needed at 111000 miles.

I think that if the dpf gets blocked that it will throw up a dpf pressure sensor code and i will then get it cleaned or replaced.

I am not a mechanic but love to give things a go myself but when i was looking for information on refilling the additive tank there was not a great deal on youtube and i know i am going to get a few neg comments on the video i have uploaded but i thought its worth it if i can manage to help some else, thats whats so great about forums like this and youtube it gives people more confidence to give things a go anyway im rambling now thanks for the advice you have giving on this and the injector (on a previous post)

What you probably did was type your reply into the 'quick reply' box at the bottom of the page, then instead of hitting the 'Submit' button, you hit the 'Post Reply' button which takes you to the post editor and loses your typed text. I sometimes do the same thing. I must see if something can be done to make the mistake harder (disabling the quick reply box would be and easy solution).

However, if you find yourself in that position, the back button on your browser should take you back to the text that you were typing, which can then be submitted with the 'Submit' button.

What was the idea of buying launch rather than diagbox/lexia planet type clone? Does it crossover to other cars? Quite expensive?

Hi just jumping in this tread, my car has popped up with this message, I'm pretty confident I could refill the reservoir but I'm not sure how to delete the erro code.

Looking on ebay at the diagbox software just confesses me can anybody drop a link to software and obd cable that would work.

Thanks

You need a professional level diagnostic tool and a Lexia VCI interface is the required hardware, plus suitable laptop and the Diagbox software.

Unless you want to go the expense of purchasing all the kit, and configuration (which can be difficult) it will be easier and cheaper for the dealer to do it for you most likely - especially if you are only purchasing it for this purpose. There is also no guarantee it will be error free, and may still need dealer intervention of there is a problem with teh additive pump.
