Re: Gearbox faulty
Thought that might be the case but hoped it was something that could be worked around

Re: Gearbox faulty
I wouldn't want to say to you replace this and replace that - because I know that these faults can be because of a comms issue in the wiring or another component and that can mount up along with the programming if you don'ty have a kit and someone who knows how to do it. In some cases, it is better to say to the dealer - look I have this fault and that fault and get a prognosis.

Re: Gearbox faulty
The clutches can be a bit expensive to do - but I would expect you to be getting some slippage well before this to be honest - just like a manual, as it has a bog standard clutch, dual mass flywheel and manual gearbox - just with the hydraulic actuators. So any slippage would be a giveaway if the clutch and / or flywheel, so a bit dubious about that - unless he has reason to suspect something else - but I can't see what on the face of it.
They can be a bit fiddly to do as they have to be grid set when changed. I can get you prices when you get back and can post VIN with the necessaries.

Re: Gearbox faulty
Ok, so if you are certain it's the clutch, be prepared to get the DMF done too - as I'm sure you know, the labour is a killer on these, and a DMF will rarely see another clutch out. That may also cure some judder. Time to start melting down the family silver!

Makes it a bit better to do
They going to do a full diagnostic check tomorrow With lexia and then check sensors are working as should first as well as check wiring loom so touch wood it’s a straight forwards job rather than box out clutch change

Re: Gearbox faulty
The garage have looked at the car via lexia and it won’t fully talk to them
They can ascertain that the gear selector is working but it won’t pressurise the hydraulic system at all the sensors have been removed and are measuring within range
They will be checking through wiring looms Monday
