air suspension problems

Does anyone have any info on the factory fitted air suspension on a 2.2 2010 boxer? I can't find any info at all apart from one mention of a fuse in the door pillar.
When I turn van on it says "self leveling not available check handbook" and its very low at the back and the buttons in the cab dont raise it

It depends on the exact system you have fitted. There were a few variants fitted given the almost infinite combinations of the Boxer vans. You probably have conventional front suspension and pneumatic at the rear.

It could be the compressor itself that has retired, but there should be one or more fault codes stored if you can get these read. Pop your VIN up too and I can see which system you have fitted.

So all of those are powertrain related and not specifically concerning the suspension ECU.

Your generic OBD reader may not be able to read codes from the suspension ECU, and that is why they may be missing. I would suggest you get it to somebody with PP2000 / Diagbox kit that also has the specific S1279 module needed to read some commercial vehicles like the Boxer (as this has the Ford Puma Engine).

My first thoughts are possibly the rear height correctors. These are exposed to the elements and can suffer with corrosion / water ingress or the internal tracks can just wear out over time. The vehicle is 10 years old now, so one or more of those may be a problem. If these are faulty, then the ride height data cannot be corrected and this will stop the vehicle being raised and lowered (as a safety feature). But this is purely a guess at this stage. Somebody with Peugeot Planet 2000 / Diagbox will be able to read any fault codes and also undertake a Global Test and undertake actuator tests on the system.

Here is a diagram for you showing the components. As you can see it has conventional dampers and a set of pneumatic springs:

That will be the kit - but you will need a laptop running a 32 bit OS unless installing it on a Virtual Machine.

Incidentally - his claims are a bit wild - Citroen (which he can't spell correctly) and Peugeot NEVER endorse these products on ebay as they are cloned copies of the originals! Secondly he has mentioned our name, but we don't endorse any sellers of kits. Members may do of course based on their own experiences.

Be aware that you may also need the S1279 add-on interface for the kit, because that is needed to communicate with some of the ECUs on commercial vehicles. Some sellers will supply this separately as it is not always needed for the DIYer on non-commercial vehicles.

Jiggled some wires and wiggled the body height sensor and the compressor started working and raised it up a bit. thanks so much for the diagram
Buttons in front still not working and same message on dash when I start it up but at least it doesnt look like the wheels are going to rub now.

so the van was left without a battery for 2 weeks and the suspension has gone all the way down, iv'e jiggled and tapped the compressor, the wires the height sensors, but the compressor is not kicking in at all. I jacked it up a bit to see if that makes a difference.

I know there is a 7.5a fuse in the door pillar (checked, and it's fine) is there a separate fuse for the comp? or a relay hiding somewhere?
