Part number help please.

Post by jml »

When I still had free access to the parts info I was on there almost every week - usually just for info or interest. Once PSA started charging I thought I’d be completely lost however I had managed to save many pages of info to keep me going.

However now I’m looking for three part numbers and I hope you guys will be able to help me as I, very willingly, made my contribution. I have posted my C8’s VIN before, would you like me to repeat it ?

The parts numbers I’m looking for are for a front parking sensor (innner front right, if they are different) , the headlamp washer pump and for a torque converter. I just know the price of this last item will be more than the value of the car but I’d be interested to know the official price, if that’s possible.

Keep up the great work guys.

Cheers

Hi Julian, no worries I should of read your post properly first.

All the sensors are the same, but the sensor supports can be different.

They come in 2 options, either without paint or primed:

No Paint: 659095
Primed: 6590Q2

Windows Washer Reservoir: 6431C9

As for the gearbox - what exactly are you after? The complete box, the Hydraulic Block, Converter Casing?

This is the Hydraulic Block:

Also let me know if you require current prices for any of these once you've confirmed gearbox part.

Hi Marc

Thanks for such a speedy reply.

It’s actually the torque converter itself that I’m interested in. I’ve been told that the internal clutch is probably failing although I’ve got a nasty suspicion that they may not sell it separately :(

And sorry, it wasn’t the window washer reservoir I wanted but the pump for the headlamp washers that plugs into the reservoir.

As for prices, it’s only really the torque converter that I’d like - as I mentioned, I fear it’s probably more than the car’s worth, but it would be useful to know.

Cheers

That’s great, thanks Marc.

That torque converter isn’t quite as expensive as I thought it might be !

Sorry Marc, one other question if I may ?

Can you tell if the torque converter will be the same as one fitted into a 2009 Peugeot 807 with the same Aisin 6spd autobox and 173hp engine ? Unfortunately I don’t have theVIN of the 807.

🤞 Cheers

For a torque converter, also see Mackie who do quality rebuilds.

Thanks.

Luckily I’ve got a very well regarded converter rebuild company near to me, in case I go down that path. That’s why I’ve asked Marc the question above.

Cheers

Thanks Marc,

I guessed it might be. That’s good news because I have one of those so, if it turns out my judder is a Torque Comverter Clutch problem, as it seems, then I can get the Peugeot one rebuilt and swap it straight into my car.

Citroen state that removal of the auto box requires removal of the whole power unit first, but I just wonder whether it might be possible to remove the auto box on its own. I feel there is a bit more space in the C8 than there is with this engine/box combo in a C5 or C6. Does anybody know ?

Cheers

I wouldn’t count on it either !

However I remember having to change the turbo lubrications and drain off pipes. Bear in mind that, with the twin turbos, it is a complex and twisted assembly and Citroen say the power unit needs to come out to replace it. Looking carefully at it, I thought, I’m not so sure - possibly might need a drive shaft removed. Anyway, I had a go and managed to change it all without even taking out the drive shaft, let alone the engine :)

But, as you say, I won’t count on being able to do it !

Cheers

There are shortcuts, but I'm not sure with this lump Julian - it's the first thing they say needs doing before coming on to the box. Good luck though if you're feeling brave! :-D
