HELP!!!!
Hello to all and i hope you are all safe.
My friends i really dont know what to do anymore. I love my 407 but its killing me..
I have changed the seals washers studs on the injectors TWICE.
I have changed the valve cover TWICE
There are no leaks on the return pipes or feeding pipe to the injectors.
I finished cleaning all that, went for a drive around 6 miles..ALL IS WET AGAIN???!!!! its smells diesel i dont know if it oil or diesel or both. I know there are so many complains about this problem.
The car pulls perfectly no smoke no lack of power. Only codes refer to glow plugs but the car starts perfectly well and another about egr (its blo...)
SO i dont know what else to do.........

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
Dry everything off, run the engine for a short time (until the leak appears) and post a photo, so we can make suggestions.

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
Clean it again and wedge the accelerator to 2K rpms (or use a friend) for a few minutes, should replicate a drive.

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
I went to another drive.....i didn't clean it yet...but i had to have another go.....
I notice that the injector 1 or 4? (the one close to the vacuum pump) has some wetness.
So i had the engine rev between 2000 and 2500 for 4 min...But nothing came out, or by the feed or return pipes
4 min i guess it would be enough to see if there was leak there?!! The breeder pipe is dry underneath so i can only guess something wrong with the valve cover???
Once again
Many Thanks

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
BINGO!!!!!
Today after cleanig were the wet was i rap the injectors in paper towels and went for a drive when i return....................
The injector close to the vacuum pump was with the paper towel completely wet in diesel and and everything was dirty again. I dont think its the fuel feeders they are not that tight, If you look at the photo above the injector close to the vacuum pump where the feed pipe is, is not as tight as the others you see more threads, i think thats where the leak is .....
I think i will take it out and use some Teflon tape there......
Below also you can see the paper towel....
Thank you for your help now try to fix it.....without having to buy a new injector

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
Although I've never heard of PTFE being used to seal injector pipes, were you told why not to use it? Maybe in case remnants enter the injector. It's been a well known trick on brake nipples for years. It stops them rusting in place.

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
PTFE tape is resistant to heat. It can continually tolerate 260C, and (for short periods) up to 290C.

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
yes but it brakes apart and it can go inside the injector and damage it

Re: Always wet... HELPS PLEASE
PSA do recommend you change the pipes if they are disturbed.
