HI!
Help needed
I have a CITROËN C5 II (RC_) 2.0 16V (RCRFJB, RCRFJC) 2006 LHD
And I just can't find where the secondary air pump is located in my vehicle.
So if somebody have some pics to post to this forum I would be very grateful and happy of course.
I did read from the Haynes book that it's located below the battery platform but I didn't found it from there?
The other problem is find the EGR valve location, I think the Haynes book just misleads people.

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
If you mean the RCRFJC, then that will be the EW10J Petrol engine.
Are you referring to the Brake Servo?

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
Hi again!
Marc@
No I'm not talking about the brake servo but secondary air pump location.
My car is CITRO?N C5 II Hatchback 2.0 16V 2006 Petrol 103 kw
Here's a pic of an air pump which has got something to do with the antipollution system. -Nea-

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
Yes, I have your car correct, but there's nothing like that I can see - where did you get that picture as I can't see anything like it on your engine.
The only thing related to the emissions, is the fuel vapour canister absorber - but that is nothing like the above picture.
The fuel vapour canister is like the picture below and that is connected to an electrovalve.
So can you be more specific in what it is you are looking for - what is its purpose?

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
I think you may have answered you own question..
Special features of the emission control:
Air injection to the exhaust: No OK
Exhaust gas recycling: No OK
We know you have an EW10J4 engine, but as we know there is no EGR system even though it is mentioned. You have a Magneti Marelli 6LPB injection ECU, and this was a feature of this injection system - but it may not be implemented on your C5, which may be why you can't find it. Haynes aren't referred to as the BOL (Book of Lies) for nothing...
But I have searched the emissions and injection system and cannot find any reference to this 'pump'.
I can see nothing of this, and it may not apply to all models. In fact the system does say:Some EW10J4 and EW7J4 petrol engines are also equipped with a secondary air injection system

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
If it has a secondary air pump fitted it will be behind the LH front wheel arch liner under the headlamp. There should be a one way valve fitted to the exhaust manifold with a pipe leading to the pump if it has an air pump fitted.

Let us know if you do locate it - as it will be interesting to see if you do have one on this model.

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
I have that pump, it’s under the battery.
It stopped pumping years ago.
Since I didn’t know if it was seized or had worn brushes, I pulled the fuse out so that it couldn’t cause me troubles.
The only difference since is that the exhaust has a grotty stench
when the engine is cold.
Bed time
here, will be back tomorrow with the fuse number.
Edit: Under bonnet fuse F16, 30A green, for "air pump".

Re: C5 Secondary Air Pump Location?
I've had a good look too for the mk2 & cant find it, there only seems to be one choice of 2.0 petrol engine on the mk2 & its not showing as having the air pump or EGR (which I find bizzare).
I can only see them on the mk1 below.
Out of curiosity why do you need to locate it?
