Heck, with that kind of warranty you can't go wrong... :-D I'll throw in and volunteer to fit it, if you bring the car & new motor to Congleton, too. Arthritis is a nasty thing in this weather.

It lives!
What a bugger of a job!
Had to remove the Fuel filter, clutch slave cylinder and a few brackets etc.
First one I have seen held on with Allen bolts?
The power cable lug is a big brass square, that fits on the old starter but wont fit on the new one due to the shape of the insulator in between the two connections on the Solenoid, hacksaw I hear you all say not a chance of getting it to it!
So poped to Aldi for a dregel thing and now it fits, massive difference in the cranking speed cant believe it.
I bought this one as its 2.2KW and more teeth oh and it was cheap, does look very well made though
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130941458928?ul_noapp=true
Had a bit of aFarce as I didn't understand the Ebay delivery stuff, opted for it to be delivered to Argos.
DPD Mail me to say its at Argos at 09.30, great strips car, jumps in to the spare car argos tell me I need some code from Ebay!
Late afternoon I get the code by the time I collect it its dark, what a crap system.
So cold weather is forecast so lets see how it is tomorrow.
Thanks for all your help, lets see if I can get another 164000 out of it

If there's ever a next time put it up on ramps and do it from underneath.

I looked at that but the air con pipes looked to be in the way an I could only connect the cables on the top

HellRazor James and I did mine. It's definitely easier from below. I think I was able to manoeuvre the starter from below past the a/c pipes while James guided me.

It did help that we had two people doing the job. Part of this was due to the ability to see options, but also one person could support the motor while the other could do up/undo the bolts.
