Can you get details of the clutch operation on my new C3 C3 Picasso please?

No vin until tomorrow as it's all with the car. Reg is ;


Clutch got lower and lower driving around London tonight. That was fun. Then I couldn't get gears at all. Limped out onto the A4 and managed to gently drive home. Green Flag are dropping it at the dealer tomorrow who will sort it but I'd like to know what to pull them up on and check what they've done.

Must be hydraulic - there are no cables listed for any C3 Pic versions.

Yes, hydraulic Clutches on these. I have the VIN, so removed your Reg. C3 PICASSO FAMILY SALOON 1.4 VTi 16v 95 Manual gearbox 5.

However, apart from the usual checks there was also a Technical Service Bulletin for these. Specifically, it is where gear changing is difficult / impossible.. Caused by Electrolytic fluid from the battery which can leak / spill onto the hydraulic clutch pipe. So a check is needed to see if the pipe has been holed and if so, replaced.

Could someone possibly give me a part number and a price for the clutch slave cylinder please?

Book time for the job to change it please also - is it a gearbox out job or is the cylinder external? I can't look as the car is at the dealer. He's had it 6 days. I'm seriously considering rejecting it as he's not returning my calls or emails either.

Just check if there's enough fluid first. It uses either brake fluid or has it's own container.
