Yes, that looks like a good 5-year coolant.

Seen them quite a few times. Always good value for money.
Of course, if you're really old you'd think of Barry Ryan...

I hope you have many enjoyable miles and not to much trouble!
I'm looking for my 4th C6 just now in the UK but can't find anything that ticks all my boxes!
David.

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
I haven’t told the reason why she is called ‘Eloise’.
Well. The very first time I drove the car her in South Africa, I changed the radio channel to our local stations and the very first song that played over the radio was Eloise of Barry Ryan.
Thanks David. Just so thankful I got the one I wanted. All the specs was exactly what I wanted.
Soon there will be a proper writeup. Alot has been done with her. The work has been way more and more involved. Hope she starts again!!

Well.
It seems my luck getting TOTAL OAT technology antifreeze has run out.
I settled for Volkswagen G13 antifreeze which is an OAT longlife coolant. Was a bit cheaper than Citroen IAT antifreeze

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
My Eloisa.... sigh. The madness continues.
Intake manifold taken off and cleaned. Cambelt done. Diesel pump belt done. Waterpump and antifreeze too.
Took her for a 240km drive. On my way back pollution message came on the display and engine light. Did a diagnostic. I also temporarily lost power under dull throttle. Was a bit alarming!
This is a picture of the faultcodes on display. The fuel pressure faulcode worries me... what can it be?

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
I know that you've changed the fuel filter, but its it possible that you've dislodged a load of crud that has blocked the filter whilst you have been busy doing all the other parts? The low pressure earning would indicate a blockage hence the cut off at higher revs and the backup mode engaged.
You could have some crap in the filter, or air in the system. If you have a leak back kit - see if an excessive amount of fuel is returning - if it is then it's likely to be the fuel filter blocked, check the pipes are connected correctly, or air or the fuel pump.

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
Hi Marc
I will check. Anything is possible being that she stood this long. Why does the computes state upper limit? I thought that the pressure was too high?
Anyway. Thanks for the clarification. Will change the filter again as I did buy one extra from the dealership. I also think I need to run the diesel tank to just about empty. Then again some fresh fuel.
What will the other codes mean? Besides the pre post heating circuit relay?
Thanks for correcting the picture. For some reason my iphone uploads them wrong way up.

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
P0087 is saying the fuel measured in the fuel rail is less than the setting or lower than the reference. I know on a different engine this code would signify (minus) -200bars for 1 second. So there has to be a blockage, air in the system or a leak - or a failure of the HP pump.

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
Lets hope it is not the latter... but if it is. Que sera sera. I will replace the dieselfilter in anycase. I do not have a leakdown testkit. I will take her for a drive again tomorrow. I am hoping it is just air somewhere in the system that finally escaped.
Then again. Injectors were disconnected and fuelrails removed. Possibly some leakage it a union?
The adventure continues

Re: The first Citroen C6 in South Africa aka ‘Eloise’
Hi everyone
Well the work continues. After Doing the cambelt and the intake cleaning which after I blanked off the EGR. I know it is not encouraged but seeing how the intake looked apon disassembly and the fact that no law prohibits us from blanking off an EGR, I chose to blank it off. I can't say the car's fuelmileage increased but the knowledge of cleaner air reaching the engine is quite enough for me.
Next on my list was the faulty ABS sensor which necessitates taking off the fueltank, with all the rusty bolts it was a difficult task, the wheel liner bolts and the shield covers under the car was terrible. I could save a few and zinc-plated them. Rest had to be replaced. Anycase it was a success, no more ABS faultcodes and no handbrake faulty message! Yay!
My next hope was to have a working speedcontrol as I thought the faulty ABS sensor caused the speedcontrol not to work. Well problem still there. the icon for speed control doesn't illuminate at all. no matter what button I press on the steering. What could be the issue? Steering switches?
Another question, the only error message in the ECU now is the glowplugs. I got hold of 2 new units for a very good price. Is there any way to check which glowplug(s) are faulty?

Am I wrong in assuming a blanked EGR will lead to an EML fault?
