suspension ecu

Unread post by KennyW »

After much nashing of teeth etc got a laptop running with xp pro to run diagbox. BUT it appears there is no communication between diagbox and suspension control unit during globel test it appears in RED Communication Error. All previous global tests have been the same but I just thought it was me with electronics :rofl2:

I suspect a broken wire running from diagnostic socket to Sus control unit.

Any other suggestions ?

Multi meter at the ready.

Kenny - what is the name of the ECU that is in red that is not communicating - do you have a screenshot of the global test section that shows this please?

I ask as there are 2 units - one built into the BHI (suspension ECOTECH) and the other (Suspension CSS) that is separate. The CSS one you do not have as this is only for 6 cylinder engines, so you will never be able to access it. If not this then please advise.

That's probably it then. You don't have directional headlamps either and that also shows a comms issue - to be expected.

Can you confirm on the next screens if you are seeing Suspension 'ECOTECH'. That should be visible.

Marc,

I'm sure there is no suspension ecotec further down the test.

I presume the global test no matter where it is started will check ALL available ECU's.

Yes, for a unique session. Always start a new global test at the beginning. You should have suspension eco tech listed for sure.

Any changes made to the software since you last used it?
Try with engine running and make sure the cable isn’t strained, pulling on the pins.

Marc,

Definitely no other suspension ecu on global test.

Thus I have a electrical problem hopefully a broken wire. But where ?

The Sus ECU has always displayed this error when I have done a global test.I wonder if this is the reason it was sold.

No issues that I can see concerning later versions in relation to error corrections - although with 7.58 you do get the option to test by ECU that is missing in 7.57.

Am I correct in thinking (I don't have diagbox or suitable car handy) that the BSI configuration pages contain a list of the ECUs that the car is configured to have?
