Thanks James. My angle grinder takes 115mm cutting discs and looks like they are just listing 125mm discs at the moment. Hope Peter hasnt just joined the Gibbo and Steve club!

Peter, both Steve and Gibbo bought packs of 125mm discs by mistake, and all the discs shown at Aldi available from 26th are 125mm as far as I can see. (They are selling an angle grinder too which takes disks up to 125mm).

My grinder has 115mm stamped on it so I assume it will not take the 125mm discs. I'll have to hang on until the 115 mm discs come up on offer.

Always have to watch out for these. I rarely buy anything of value from ebay to be honest for that reason. We had the latest scam today - Birmingham number called (0121) we were going out so left it til I got back from the Dentist. Picked up the answerphone and it was an automated call from Amazon saying my Amazon prime membership will be deducted from my account 39.99 (no pounds or dollars) and that if I didn't want to proceed, to press 1....... blah blah

As it turns out I just cancelled my Prime membership a week ago - but I clocked this scam straight away - anyone who presses '1' and they'll know they've got some bait and off they go trying to bull you into letting them put some software on your PC to sort it out and will then grab any documents / passwords etc.

One woman had 25k gone on this scam - as reported on the beeb's site just a few weeks ago:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-49733823

This is the exact one that called me. They'll be using a fake number generator, but I've blocked the number anyway on our call blocker doohickey.

So, an even bigger scam than Amazon Prime itself!

So this woman spends 2 1/2 hours on the phone, when she's smart enough never to have got suckered into Amazon Prime, she would have known whether she'd shared her wi-fi password (&, if so, with who) & that AP wouldn't have her phone No: in any event (would they? why?). Then gave a stranger control of her computer - really? AND her bank a/c!

I'm sorry but people cannot be protected from themselves which is why, ultimately, banks, etc constantly make life more difficult for everyone.

Interestingly, going to the 1st link gets you "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing" perhaps disclosing the item was in China?!

Picked up the 18 volt hammer drill and impact driver combi from Aldi yesterday. Seems good value and well put together. I guess time will tell. My 18v MacAllister reverse switch declined to work 2 weeks ago, so timing was near perfect as i was on the point of visiting Screwfix. Dont make 'em like they used to! Only lasted 19 years, and broke for the sake of a tuppeny switch, lol.

There's a page here from a previous offer with some feedback from buyers, click on the yellow stars at the bottom to see what they say.

It's a generic reader - that's it - nothing special and will only likely only read basic codes - not the constructor-specific codes. Although it says it is CAN compliant and can read constructor codes, don't expect miracles.
