Lidl and Aldi Car accessories

Post by Hell Razor5543 »

Hello all,

You might want to check out Lidls' website. Next Thursday thay are doing car accessories, some of which you might find useful. I have got a set of the axle stands and they have not let me (or Gracie) down!

http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl ... date=35167" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is worth going back to their site regularly, as they have special offers (on various things, not just car bits) usually every Monday and Thursday. Aldis' update their site on a similar interval.

I could do with another pair of stands at that price, but the postage would be a killer.

I have one of their trolley jacks, had it for years. I might buy another as it's getting a bit shoddy now. It's never failed, but one of the wheels came loose and got lost - more my fault than the jack, and I bent the handle using it as a breaker bar to lever the washer bottle mounting back straight when my Activa got bent. I could also do with a set of axle stands, as my halfords ones aren't brilliant, and have the pins missing, and one is slightly bent!

have to agree about the axle stands I have a set of them and find them very handy as a spare set when the heavy duty ones are being used

Me again.

Aldi have today also done some car bits.

http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/of ... z_src=main" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The torque wrench is similar to the one I bought several years ago and still use. Mine goes from 28NM to 210NM.

If the moderators are OK with this, I will add the new Aldi and Lidl links to this post when they show they are doing car accessories.

I can't help the fact I go in Lidl or Aldi and even though the items look reasonable I would rather pay more and buy proper quality stuff. I know everyone likes a bargain but you get what you pay for in this world... [-X

I once bought a pack of the Aldi "Glass Smearing Wipes". Used them in a moment of hopefulness. They made an iffy situation so bad, I had to go home and hook into some methylated spirits and paper towel to sort things out on the windscreen.

some Aldi/Lidl stuff is brilliant and some is not worth the cost of the packaging. a simple rule is avoid any thing electrical.... but i've found the tools to be quite good, not snap-on/MAG quality but close to Holfords quality.... but WAY cheaper.
