Source, Valeo alternator parts

Post by Stickyfinger »

Need a source for Valeo alternator parts....namely a CL12...this one. I am struggling to find one that has any sort of list I can select from.

I need a bearing set, slip ring and brushes

Found the catalogue on Valeo site... Looks like not all parts are available, well not from Valeo anyway....

Exploded diag
altexploded.JPG
The label says A14VI24 which is the bottom row in these tables
altparts1.JPG
altparts.JPG
Presume 2 is the brush pack and 21/22 the bearings (although 22 doesn't appear on the diagram!) Slip rings not available separate from the rotor (bet that's expensive!). Items marked with a triangle only available in packs of 10 by the looks of it!! I would expect you can get the bearings aftermarket anyway if you measure them (or they are on e-bay if you search under the number).

Rotor on e-bay

Bearing #22 seems to be a 6202 2RS C3 - common as anything and cheap.
Bearing #21 seems to be a 17x 17x 52 2RS https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw ... g&_sacat=0
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Yep. happy with the codes etc, it is where to find the parts and how to search for them, I cannot find a site that lets me sort on those numbers for parts.
(Being the first time doing this, the myriad of "parts" that look exactly the same that pop-up is a little confusing.)

Edit:, one alternator is in for refurbishment (local firm) and this one.......I wish to rebuild this one myself to learn how to do it....those videos have helped a lot.

For entertainment it might be ok but is it really worth it? I've done quite a few but the results can be very hit and miss.
