Re: Front suspension , Drive shaft rebuild, Help
I was absolutely knackered by the time it was out .
My next query is regarding the road wheel bolts .
Correct me if I'm wrong should these look like chrome type ? One was damaged not sure if the bolt got damaged by the incident which happened the other week.
If i was to get new ones where would i get these and what should i look for ?
Think there 19mm

Your original bolts (as fitted at factory) is part 540535 (DIAM 12X125-53)
Your original wheels should be steel.
Pack of 2 original OEM bolts here for £7:

Re: Front suspension , Drive shaft rebuild, Help
Front wheel bearings....what fun. I cheat, do the tedious time consuming removal of the hub then take the hub to the local mechanic and give him 20 euros for about 20 mins work with his 10 tonne press and hot-plate. Half an hour after getting there I'm leaving with a hub that's ready to fit. No swearing, no blood, all knuckles and fingers intact.

Re: Front suspension , Drive shaft rebuild, Help
Changed the rear shocks today .
Old ones took over an hour to rise after being taken off the car .
New hub carrier with complete bearing and hub was just collected for the local post office that will be fitted tomorrow .
Once again a massive thanks to all here that helped me, no doubt I'll be back asking questions and stuff..
Getting to really love this old zx estate am I mad ?

I would cut that bearing with a dremel rather than press it out.

Re: Front suspension , Drive shaft rebuild, Help
No not yet , just got it back on the road ,all what I'm doing is due to a pinch bolt failing on the lower ball joint, the company whom sold it are playing the out of warranty card, considering it only did 800miles the photo says it all really,

Re: Front suspension , Drive shaft rebuild, Help
If you have a welding set, put a run of weld around the outer bearing race(where the bearings would have run) The heat will shrink the race and if it doesn't fall out, It will require only light taps.
