Here you go - you did ask!
First, it's essential to disconnect battery negative and prevent it retouching the terminal - but simpler to follow the Battery Disconnect procedure:
Battery Connect / Disconnect ECU Reset Procedure
When working with Airbag components leave a minimum of 10 minutes after battery disconnection for Airbag ECU energy dissipation.
Recommendations are that the central console trim be removed, so that the footwell air duct can be slid back to reveal the Airbag ECU. Disconnect the connectors (which may need the ECU bolts undone).
Note: When later reconnecting, always attach the earth connector first, then tighten the bolts (2) to 0.8 m.daN
Put the wheels in the straight ahead position
Refit

Slide towards 'a' first, then 'b'... | ...to reveal the Airbag ECU |
Next there is a recommended tool to lock the fixed centred controls steering wheel |
Remove:
Disconnect the supply connector of the headlamp beam corrector (at "a"). Remove the steering column lower half cowl (3). | Engage a pin punch (6 mm diameter) in the opening ( as "b"). Compress the retaining spring using a pin drift. Unclip the airbag (1) (pull towards you) ( as "a"). Detach the driver’s air bag (1). |
ESSENTIAL: When removing an airbag, disconnect the supply connector first. Disconnect the connectors (Driver’s airbag ) ( as "c"). Remove the driver’s air bag (1). | Remove bolts (4). |
CAUTION: Do not hit the steering wheel with fixed central controls. Fit the tool [9702-T] before removing the fixed centred controls steering wheel. Immobilise the steering wheel with fixed in central controls (6) using tool [9702-T]. Clip the tool [9702-T] at "b" on the fixed centred controls steering wheel (6). Remove the 3 nuts (5). Release: The steering wheel with fixed central controls (6). | Remove the bolts (8). Release: The controls module at the steering wheel (7). |
Unplug te steering wheel control module connectors (7) (at "c"). Remove the steering wheel with fixed central controls (6). | Unclip the steering wheel angle sensor (1) at "a". |
Disconnect the connector at "b" behind the steering wheel angle sensor (1). Remove the steering wheel angle sensor (1). | refitting: Refit the steering wheel angle sensor (1). N.B.: Align the foolproof "c" of the steering wheel angle sensor (1) with the groove "d" of the steering column (2). Connect the connector ( as "b"). Clip on the steering wheel angle sensor (1) ( as "a"). |

Re: fuse box under the bonet c5 x7 2.2hdi PSA
Many Thanks.. even with all this information its incredibly hard to track this down I don't think its wiring issue I think it is one of many ECU,s what makes this hard is the fact the first thing on the dash is faulty braking system put Lexia points to just about nothing on the braking system and does not ever put a ABS light on, so Lexia says all faults are on the ESP81 , and the main thing has to be no communication with the gyrometer, so ive tried 4 second hand units and all say the same so I don't think the issue lays with the gyrometer , so the only credible thing Lexia tells me is that the steering wheel angle sensor is Faulty and will not calibrate up , remember that if there is no coms with gyrometer evidently you cant calibrate the SWAS, so ive got to try changing the SWAS first and if that makes no difference then its could be the ESP/ABS unit ..it could be the BSI, it could be the main fusebox, or the Main ecu see what I mean there is just to many variable's.. next stop is the scrap yard....

quick update on this is its not to hard to get the SWAS off following the above from marc, im just waiting for my second hand one to arrive and then if that doesn't work im going to look into the ABS/ESP Unit

Ok part arrived today and it's made no difference so I can at least say it's not the SWAS even tho Lexia states its faulty,, so Lexia reports all issues are with the ESP 81 I can say it's not the gyrometer or the SWAS so its comes down to I think ..no communication with the gyrometer so what's the next step.. well canbus,, fusebox, BSi.. it may just be to much to track down

It's very frustrating, without having a CAN diagnostic circuit checker - so many of these systems are integrated on the data network. Pinpointing where the fault is can be very difficult without the specific kit. This will be invaluable to others if you manage to isolate the fault.
