Yes it has cruise control. It’s the 2.2 exclusive.

So possibly the Comms 2000 unit?

No, that won't be anything to do with it. The cruise will only vary according to controls pressed at the stalk to increase, decrease, pause, resume and activate or deactivate. It can NOT autonomously engage itself and you didn't mention that you had activated cruise control. If you didn't then absolutely this cannot engage for safety reasons.
