How to remove this panel/cover?

Post by atr »

I would like to remove the panel/cover shown in the picture attached. my attempts so far, yield nothing. there must be some "trick" to remove it. hope that you can help. it is at the back of the center console, under the rear cigarette lighter socket.
Thanx.
Avi

It doesn't come off on its own Avi - you have to remove the whole central console as a symmetrical operation. I'll dig out a guide shortly.

Thanx Marc. I never thought that it's so complicated, I think that I'll pass. do you happen to know if there is a way to pull out the black compartment above this panel - the one that contain the rear cigarette lighter?

No, nothing on that - the rear 12V socket connector is removed from inside when you have the panels off. The black part is the housing and is part of the overall structure from what I can see.

Hi Guys,
If we are talking about dismantling of panels. I would need to remove this side plastic panel of passenger front electric seat (on the picture) on my C5 X7. Does anybody have instructions how to do it?

You need to lift and roll back the carpet (2) at the rear to expose the trim clips (a). Remove these to remove the trim or expose the other clips if you need to remove the inner trim.
