Hi everyone
After replacing my inner tierod end the car had to get wheelalignment. I don’t drive her muck so took her for one today.
Apparently the caster and camber is out and non adjustable, is that true? He gave me a printout. Toe could be adjusted. But that was it.
I attach the printout. ES9 I believe is to do with the engine code?
What do you guys suggest to rectify the caster and camber?

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
Hi Corne, that is also my understanding - here is the official data and settings:
N.B.: Front of the vehicle (following the arrow ).
B lower or equal to C : Positive figure (+) (toe-in).
B greater than or equal to C : Negative figure (-) ( opening).
Geometry of the front suspension
Rear axle geometry (Prior to build date (RPO) 9435). Your build date is 9055 Corne, so is relevant to your C5.

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
The only thing I can suggest is to check the bushes and front lower control arms, bearings etc. for damage or wear Corne.

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
Well. After 17 years I bet they are tired.
Guess new ones are needed. Any suggestions on which brand to use for the bushes?Doubt I’d get it from Citroën. New parts. Something new to do. I’m excited.
Regards
Corne

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
If the handling and steering is ok and there's no unusual tyre wear I'd disregard the settings, the mot tester will find and list any worn bushes/bearings..

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
In South Africa. We do not have an MOT. You buy a car. Put it through a roadworthy test and as long as it is yours and not in a serious accident you never have to do any roadworthy ever again. So I have to keep a close eye on it and due to the lack of dealerships and likeability for Citroens one must do most things yourself. Your average mechanic does more damage to a Citroen than repair it this side of the world...
Well I don’t have any tyre wear and the steering wheel stays centre and no pulling on the road. Only concern after adjustment today is that when you accelerate I need to turn the wheel slightly anti clockwise. So I guess there is movement. I hit a pothole 2 days ago and lost a tyre. Im wondering if it didnt do more damage than just the tyre....

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
Well. Time to import a passanger side control arm and bushes. Might be worthwhile to also do bushes on drivers side. Although she is a low mileage car, age deteriorate the rubber I believe.
Always something to do. Will import the bits and then dig the thread out again and post pictures and my findings

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
Had that.when you accelerate I need to turn the wheel slightly anti clockwise
Swapping the front wheels around fixed it.

Re: C5 mk1 wheel alignment
First you need to be sure that the tyres are not 'directional' i.e. not changeable left to right. mine are on my C5, have arrows on the side to show which way.

Try swapping them front to rear.
