LEZ has been going really well with no faults since I had the timing belt (plus tensioner & water pump) changed. Today I noticed that somehow nearly 12k miles has been covered since the oil was last changed so I took it out to warm it up prior to dropping the oil and had "Engine Management System Faulty"! Didn't go into limp or stall, but message wouldn't clear on several re starts.
Plugged Diagbox in and got P1632 engine torque delivered-safety. What could this mean? I cleared the fault and all good at the moment.
On another note Diagbox is not saving the report for me to look at later any ideas on this?

I wanted to ask you...
You use Ineo 5W-30 oil for the VTS? Why? In my service book it says only Quartz 9000 5W-40 is allowed. It explicitly says Quartz 9000, no other oil.
In a month or two(oil change every 8000 kilometers) I'll be putting Quartz 9000 Energy in the engine. It's got much lower 40°C viscosity and just a bit lower 100°C viscosity, but with higher viscosity index, so I believe it's going to offer more protection than 9000.
And while I was looking at that, I looked at Ineo 5W-30 for a friend and remembered of you. 5W-30 in a VTS? I personally believe that's far too thin oil for that engine. It's p**s thin, one of the thinnest 30 grade oil I've ever encountered.

So my question is, why? When and why did you start pouring that oil in your LEZ?

This is what Citroen dealers sell for the VTS 180 in England. I first started using it on my first VTS. On my second VTS I used it until the car was scrapped at 197000 miles. It used almost no oil between changes at 10000 mile intervals.
I have now changed the oil twice on LEZ and again it really didn't use any oil in 12000 miles (I was late changing this time!).

I used 5w 30 in that car when I owned it too. I think I changed the oil twice in that time

That's interesting. You never experienced oil pressure loss? How hard do you drive your car?
I mean, if you had no problems with ECS, then 9000 Energy will be great.
Also, why do you buy oil at the dealer? Here in Croatia, they are twice as expensive.

You may remember that I had a problem with my car (LEZ) going into limp mode at the red line, that is how I drive my car! I've never had the oil light come on or any message regarding low oil pressure.
I only bought it at the dealer when they had a special offer and it was cheaper than I could get it on the internet where I usually buy about 20 ltrs at a time since my daughter's Pug 207 takes the same and I change her oil as well.

ECS is 35% thinner than 9000 at 100°C and if you drive it hard, it really shows how bombproof that engine is!
That definitely proves that 9000 Energy will be good for my car.

Went to view this T5 today (440 mile round trip) today & left deposit arranging to pick it up on Tuesday

LEZ drove faultlessly on the 434 mile round trip at least until 10 miles to go when it did its "Engine management system faulty" thing again! So yes it will be going. My youngest daughter may have it as a stop gap depending on whether her Clio is written off after a small crash where the other driver admitted fault and instead of giving her £50 for some rattle cans insisted on going through insurance!
