Some may recall that back in March I invested in a new gadget from Jim at ED.,
Today I had another go at setting up the Lexia 3 with diagbox, on a different laptop, a Panasonic Toughbook running Windows 7 ultimate, still got the same result, no communication on all the sections.
Tried out the new gadget, immediate connection and although it's my first time trying it managed to run the diagnostic and got the all clear except for two fault codes,
P1351 Pre post relay control circuit fault/not connected
P2408 Diesel additive system defect, filler cap sensor or additive level error.
Any comments?
The new tool is a WOW Snooper + BT connected via USB although it has Bluetooth also, I don't know how it compares with a working Lexia.
Jim did all the setting up through Teamviewer

Re: Diagnostics
I don't know of many HDIs that don't have the first one referencing Glow plugs not being supplied - I wouldn't worry too much about that one.
Here's what they say about these specifically for the Siemens system in your car Gibbo:

I'm sure somebody else recently has this error with the fuel cap sensor and replaced it. It won't allow a forced regeneration of the DPF whilst this error is active - so I would hope that excludes a normally commanded regen from the engine ECU and only applies to a manually commanded one via Lexia....

Re: Diagnostics
Thanks Marc, I thought I'd read before that the first one could be ignored, the additive one seems, as you say, to be concerned only with forced regen, the diagnostics marks the anti pollution system as OK

Re: Diagnostics
On the Siemens SID 803 injection system for the DW10BTED4 engine, there are 2 types of possibilities - one with the fuel cap sensor and one without. As you are getting the relevant message, this would seem to indicate you have the version with the fuel cap sensor fitted.
From the information I have, if there is a fault, there are several backup modes.
Fuel additive function - Operation in degraded modes.
3 main strategies are used if the additive systems develops faults.
Fuel filler cap faulty.
The additive ECU uses the vehicle speed information and the fuel sender information to inject additive.
Fuel sender fault.
The additive ECU adds an amount of additive equal to that added for a fuel tank When the fuel filler cap is opened/closed.
Failure in communication on the multiplexed CAN network.
The additive ECU adds an amount of additive equal to that added for a fuel tank When communications are interrupted for more than 10 seconds.
So yours is likely to be the first mode engaged with the cap fault.
So here is the fuel sender harness part (6534HY) and a link to a genuine new one, They are £103.99 direct from Citroen inclusive, and £80 from Eurocarcare:

Re: Diagnostics
That first reported error (P1351 - GPs not connecting) would be easy enough to check out - test-lamp or meter.

Re: Diagnostics
Thanks for reminding me Chris - I almost forgot to put this up earlier.
These were modified on your model Gibbo for an updated relay:
Here's the circuit for info.

Re: Diagnostics
Thanks chaps, I'll have a look at that, might have to wait until mid-week though...……….where did I find time to go to work? I'm fully occupied all the time now
Sorted out the tailgate window, new switch, the blasted rear wiper arm wouldn't come off, had the same trouble as those rear calliper bolts welded together with corrosion so came off in bits, got a new arm and blade off Ebay for £9.99 including postage so no big deal.
Still waiting for a new drain plug for the AM6 box, supposed to be in last Monday but not here yet.

Re: Diagnostics
Well I put my new gadget aside and had another go at fitting up Diagbox and the Lexia, got diagbox installed ok on the latest laptop (I think) took it out to the car, did all the VIN No etc. inputs, got to the global test and got 'no communication' on every item, gave up.
Just been out and had another go, this time it gets to 'No VCI connected, please connect a VCI' and will go no further. the light's on on the VCI and it makes the usb connect noise. AAAGH!
Do you think I need to take an axe to the damned thing?

Re: Diagnostics
I can only repeat the usual advice Gibbo (apart from the Axe murdering bit)
Check your firewall is allowing comms through, plug and unplug VCI USB in to all ports and wait for it to be picked up, disable windows update service temporarily, ditto anti virus. Check your diagbox version and firmware.
