'09 Exclusive driveshaft fitting.

Unread post by milleplod »

Afternoon all.

I've already bought the complete nearside driveshaft as the CV joints aren't available seperately for the autos apparently. When fitting it - more specifically, when removing the old one! - am I likely to lose loads of transmission fluid?! If I do lose some and manage to save it in a clean container, am I OK to simply put that back in via the filler? :?

I don't know which box is in your car but the AM6 box is built in such a way that the drive shafts can be removed without any fluid loss.

All done! It only took us ('us' in the loosest sense of the word, I just made coffee and handed my mate the tools, as required! ) about 1hr 15mins, no glitches, no leaks, nice and simple.....and now its nice and quiet too! :-D

As a bonus, he fitted me some LEDs in place of the DRL bulbs while I was there, as one went a couple of weeks ago - the nearside one came out easily, the offside one was an absolute pig to get out, it took almost as long as it did to swap the driveshaft!
