Glad you've cottoned on -
Fray'd it's the best I can do, darn it.
No more flannel, nothing shoddy, no more loose ends.

Enough, enough!
I think all this is starting to unravel.

No wonder the UK produced so many budding gag-writers...
Galton & Simpson, Cook, Moore, Miller, Bennett, two Ronnies, Cleese, Cryer, Fry . . .
We don't have a lot to thank all those single-sex grammar and boarding schools for, but years of boring lessons and irrelevance certainly threw up some comic gems.
Good to see us keeping them alive!

Quite a turn-up really.
No, no, stop it, stop it!

Exploring the current thread of the thread "The Rules to be observed in The Mill" are worth a peruse.

Like the sheepish reference to the "Toilet" as "the Necessary".
from here https://i1.wp.com/positivesharing.com/w ... 682%2C1024

"If two persons are known to be in one Necessary together they shall be fined: & if any Man is found to be in a Women's Necessary he shall be instantly dismissed"

So sexist: no penalty for a woman in the men's! (although 2 would, presumably, be dismissed)

If there are known to be 2 men in a women's AND they are found there, do they get fined & dismissed?

Of course now they'd plead fluidity & claim the right to be in whichever one they felt like that day.
