What exactly is my C5 Driveshaft gaiter?

Hi all,

I wanted to replace my C5 (Year 2007 2.0L Petrol) driveshaft inner gaiter (The rubber cover). So I sent the picture of the worn rubber joint as attached to the dealer:







But the dealer given me something that is too small to fit:



The dealer assured me that this rubber cover is certainly meant for my model. Unless, I'm able to tell them the exact part number, they are unable to allow an exchange.

Can any kind souls here advise me what should be the correct part number of these rubber cover?

Are you sure that's a driveshaft?
One of the pictures shows it as the steering track rod.

I agree, the third photo shows a track rod. A drive shaft is a lot thicker.

The one supplied is for the RH drive shaft the one you need is for the LH, they're much different.

Looks like the inner end of the drive shaft, that will be a different gaiter to the CV joint.

Do you know the part number supplied? There appears to be more than one type - if you post up the chassis number of your car, and let us know which side, I can look up the correct part number.

The spark plug type is written on the label inside the front of the bonnet.

Oh dear, in the end I bought the wrong part. It should have been 9647779180 instead of 9620994080. 9620994080 cannot be fitted to the drive shaft.
Anyway, I'm exchanging the 9620994080 for something else.
